High Speed Reels Only
I've have 7:1:1 Plueger Patriach, two Abu Garcia Revo Rockets at 9:0:1, and a Abu Garcia SX in 6:4:1. I almost never use the SX. I bought it because I thought I needed a slower reel but I really don't. I do a lot of topwater, spinnerbaits, and now trying to use jigs, T-Rigs, and cranksbaits more this year.

What Topwater Lure Creates The Biggest Splash When Hit By A Bass?
lol. When I was a kid we drove over a swimming beaver. He was in no danger of being hurt by our motor. He was probably a few feet down under the surface. It was actually sorta scary. lol. That would have been a legit time to pee myself. lol. Granted I was a kid.

30Lb Power Pro Snapping Clean Today.
I've used Power Pro for nearly 6 years, since I got into bass fishing and it's never failed me. I still have my original Power Pro 30lbs. on my Plueger Patriach that I've used for nearly 6 years. It was my first baitcaster and I use it to this day. Have yet to lose a fish to it. I still use that reel and the original Power Pro from 6 years ago. I also have used Fireline for probably 15 years and never had a problem. I just got two rolls of 15lbs. Power Pro for my 2 spinning reels because it was on sale and my two reels need line.

Cabelas Products And Customer Service Are The Best!
Woodbury Cabelas. BPS's shipping has caused me not to order too. Cabelas maybe a little more expensive on some stuff but I usually order expensive stuff when it's on sale. And now I can have stuff shipped to the store for free, forcing me to go to cabelas. Hmmmm......that could be a bad thing. lol. I also get my orders extremely quickly. I've never had to wait more than 4-5 days to receive something. Usually get it in 3-4 days.

Rage Rig???
Thanks! Anyone like Gammy, Owner, or VMC that I can buy at like Cabelas or Gander? I don't want to have to order them online and pay shipping. If this is the only company that makes them that size and it has to be ordered online I'd rather use a different size one that I can just pick up at a store. And if that's the case, what size should I get? I think I know saw mainstream brands in 5/0 1/4 oz.

Cabelas Products And Customer Service Are The Best!
I recently made my last big fishing purchases for awhile. I purchased 4 Cabelas Tournament ZX rods (2 casting, 2 spinning) which are $100 for sale for $69 each. They won the Outdoor Life's Editors Choice award this year. I've gone by OL's awards a few times and never been disappointed and I've bought Leupold Rangefinders, Cabelas Clothing, Petzal headlamps, and other products. They also gave the Abu Garcia Revo Rocket the Editor's Choice award. So I bought 2 of the Rockets for my baitcasting reels. I love the Rockets. Great reels. Not cheap though. Then the other day I bought Shimano Stradic and Shimano Stradic Ci4 during Cabelas discount days for military/law enforcement. I should be set for years to come and don't expect to need to buy any more big purchases, only small tackle ones from now on. My favorite baitcasting rod was my St. Croix Mojo Bass rod until I got my Cabelas Tournament ZX. Both rods are heavy, but the Cabelas feels like a MH. All of the Cabelas rods feel like they are a weight lighter than they actually are. It also has amazing Winn grips and a great hook holder. I love the Tournament ZX rods. I don't know if they are the best rods at their price point but they have to be one of the best rods for $69-$100 price range. And I know they will go on sale again. Well, I was fishing with my brother and he was using one of my new spinning rods. He'd just caught a decent bass on my swim jig and was getting the rod ready again when he was pulling line out and the rod just blew up, and I mean blew up. It broke into 3 pieces. 1 long piece, and about two 2"-3" pieces all toward the tip. I wanted to be so mad at him for breaking my new rod but I knew it wasn't really his fault. Even though he had a history of breaking my stuff. So I've had these rods for about 4 months, but only fishing for about a month. So I ended up making a pit-stop to Cabelas and when I wasn't planning on going there and I went into fishing and found an employee for something else and ended up talking to him about my rod situation. He said the way it broke at the wraps was probably the wraps being made too tight during manufacturing. He said bring it in and it'll he'll make sure it gets exchanged. I also told him I had another Tournament ZX that I didn't like the length and wanted to exchange it for the same rod but longer. He said, bring that in too. This employee was an older gentleman and he was really passionate about fishing and knowledgeable while not being negative to other products. Well, I brought the rods in on another day and found him. He walked with me to get customer service desk and made sure I got my exchanges without a hitch. Awesome customer service! This is one of the reasons I'm a lifelong Cabelas customer. They exchanged the broken rod with no problem under manufacturing defect when they could have just made me buy another and they allowed me to exchange my rod for another when they didn't need to. This employee is also the one who got me onto the *** rods and said that the line is coming to Cabelas soon and that they already have their base model rods at Cabelas. I looked at the rod but it felt much heavier than the Cabelas Tournament ZX. He said the ***'s are great rods for $100 though. He's a fan of the Omens. Well, this is just one of the reasons I am a lifelong Cabelas customer. I'm happy I didn't have to buy a new rod or be stuck with the rod that was too short. They really went out of their way to make things work out for me.

Check Your Local Dick's Sporting Goods!
Thanks for the heads up! I have wanted to buy a Arashi square bill but didn't want to pay full price. At Dick's they had "buy one get one free" on a ton of stuff, including this bait. So I got 2. I got some buzzbaits and other stuff. They also had buy one get one 1/2 off on Power Pro and I needed line for my 2 new spinning reels so I got that deal too. Btw, Walmart sells Power Pro for like $13 on average while Cabelas and Dick's were about $15-$16 normally. And Senko's for $6.99 while Cabelas and Dick's was $7.99.

Selecting The Right The Reel
What problems did you have with the Power Pro? I have a Revo SX and love it. But I got it in too slow of a gear ratio, 6:4:1. So I use my Revo rockets for almost all of my fishing now. The Revo SX won Outdoor Life's Editors Choice award last year and for good reason. It's a great real.

Spinning Reel Vs. Bait Casting Reel ? Pros & Cons ?
I think it's easier to make baitcasting light for heavier gear. A spinning outfit gets pretty big quick to match it. Try casting one of those big spinning outfits. It's hard. The people who use big spinning outdoors are usually saltwater fishing vertically with no casting. If spinning gear was of comparable size to bait casters I think you'd see a lot more pros using them. Try pulling a big bass with grass out of the slop. It's a lot easier with a baitcasting set up then if is of a comparable sized spinning outfit.

Anyone Ever Have Any Fishing Gear Stolen When Parked At A Store Or Restaurant?
I was using my moms old suburban and we parked our trailer at the ramp and left to older life jackets in the back of the truck by mistake. This was an old rusty '89 suburban with extremely dark window tint that you couldn't see into. Someone stole those two life jackets out of it. Firstly you couldn't even see in there. Secondly who'd think there would be anything of value in there to steal.

I bet. When I have to do that I put them in the truck and lock it. Not much better, but at least a little better. Even when I lock them in the truck I'm worried.
