  1. This is $199.99 baitcasting combo from Cabelas. It is a Daiwa Tatula reel and Cabelas Tournament ZX rod. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Tatula-100Tournament-ZX-Casting-Combo/1751512.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dzx%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=zx&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products I have Tournament ZX rods and love them. My Tournament ZX heavy frog rod feels like the same weight as my St. Croix Mojo Bass medium heavy and just as thin. From now on my Cabelas Tournament rods are my primary rod. The Cabelas Tournament ZX rods also won Outdoor Life's Editor's Choice award this year and for good reason.
  2. I cast right and use a right handed baitcasrer. However, I cast right and use a left handed spinning reel.
  3. Yeah, I go tip down when I think they are getting ready to jump to keep them down. But when I lost these fish they weren't doing that.
  4. I was putting 40lbs Power Pro on my Revo Rocket and after I was done I looked at it and thought it might be over-spooled. If it is I can just cut some line off later. What do you think, is this over-spooled?
  5. Ok. I'll try that next time.
  6. Interesting. I just took off my front treble. I'll put it back on and try taking off the second one instead. Do you notice any change in hookup ratio?
  7. I've had limited success with hollow bodies but have caught a lot with Ragetail Toads, in thick pads too.
  8. I just bought some Zman and haven't used them yet. Be careful though, people say they will melt to other plastics, so keep them separate.
  9. Check this below thread out. Ragetail Toad is my favorite bass lure. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/136614-tip-missing-this-great-aspect-of-the-ragetail-toad-catching-fish-on-the-sink-sit/?hl=%2Bragetail+%2Btoad+%2Bthe+%2Bsink
  10. Why couldn't they just choose one? lol
  11. If you could only get one weight, which one would you get and why?
  12. Siebert starter packs. One for clear and one for stained water sounds like a good idea. lol
  13. What kind of trailer? What depth? On the bottom? In the middle, over the top of the weeds?
  14. So I've fished a spot where 3 out of 8 times I've caught some nice 1-3lbs bass. It's about 10-12 feet deep with long, wavy, grass about 2 feet below the surface. I think the water is considered stained. The times I've caught fish I used a white Terminator spinnerbait. I'd cast it as far as I could and then slowly retrieve it over the top of the grass. The bass would just crush it. I caught about 5-8 each time I think. Well, the last couple times I tried that I didn't get a bite. I was wondering if a different lure would have worked better. Since I'm trying to become more well-rounded and get better with jigs and trailers I thought this might be the time to try a swim jig and trailer. But I'm not sure. Maybe a crankbaits, topwater, Texas rigged worm, scatter rap, of something else would be better. What do you think?
  15. Yeah, I was setting the high, not to the side. That's not good. lol.
  16. A Thermacell. No. Really. Bugs are usually horrible. lol. Even in a boat in the middle of the lake. I have had luck with topwaters when it gets dark. Never fished all night or anything. But caught a few on buzzbaits and Ragetail Toads.
  17. I have a 2000 Crestliner Fish Hawk 17'. I love it. But I hope my next boat is a new bass boat. I will keep my old boat though.
  18. Cool. Were you shore fishing the whole time?
  19. My buddy drove 6 hours to see a boat. Didn't buy it. Drove another 4 hours to see one and bought a great boat. Older but only used a few times. The guy bought it and died. It was stored for years until his family got around to selling it. It's like in new condition and he got a great price because the family just wanted to get rid of it.
  20. I've seen videos of people driving their boats around with their Power Poles scraping the bottom to show how durable they are. Not sure I'd do it with Talons though. I'd google their videos perhaps.

He was more hopping it, than walking the dog, no?

I have the same problem. Can't walk the dog with a frog to save my life. It just more goes in little jumps forward.
  23. The first hook sets where weak. That's why I was going for a second.
