  1. you should try to google it and watch youtube vids
  2. no rod on the market should be able to float, especially not with a reel on it. He has a rod butt protector that makes it float. http://lunaseasports.com/store/ Thats the one he has, in grey
  3. Carolina rigs, texas rigs, swimjigs, bigger/deeper crankbaits, swimbaits, and maybe buzzbaits.
  4. Im trying to join multiple baits together
  5. doesnt matter, just get the rod you want.
  6. Does mend-it work on z-man baits?
  7. I use 7.3:1 on my cranks up to around 12~15ft range. I dont have any problems. I just reel a bit slower than I normally do.
  8. This kind of question is better suited for google, plenty of articles and guides to read up on.
  9. maybe its broken, take it apart or take it to a reel repair.
  10. I keep all my ripped up stuff. Thicker worms can be used as a jig filler when i use a chunk. I also cut them into small, 1cm long pieces and stuff them into my tubes when I rig them with a screwlock hook. Normally the tube is too thin for the screw to grab so I add more plastic behind it. I also cut some of my smaller craws down to re-purpose them. Sometimes I would cut up random plastics and stuff them into my hollow body frogs to give it a bit more mass, to cast further and sit a bit lower. I do many other small, random things with my cut up plastics, too many to list, but those are the main uses.
  11. I dont like the 3 arm one. Too small for me. I fish a bladed 5 arm rig, except i remove the 2 bottom blades and put more dummy baits there instead. 2 blades, 4 dummy baits, 3 hooked baits. Thats how I rig mine
  12. The point of oval/tear drop split ring is to prevent the line/knot from getting caught in the open section (where the split ring opens up). When your line is there, there is a chance that it can snap due to it rubbing against the wires. with oval/tear drop split ring, this is prevented.
  13. absolutely nothing wrong with using braid as backing. I tie an arbor knot onto the spool, then put electric tape on top. Once spooled, it wont even budge.
  14. Arent these things in the user manual?
  15. I like Stren Original, Sufix Elite and Sufix Seige
  16. If you dont mind going through the trouble, you can wrap the braid around some item with measured diameter (a bottle for instance), and roughly wrap 1/2 of your spool (number of wraps X diameter of bottle). go ahead and put that line onto your reel, no backing, no knots, just wrap it on (stick it down with a piece of tape or something). Wrap mono on top of that to your desirable amount, then cut it off and take off all the line. Spool with mono then braid. Might want to cut off an extra 6" of each line for knot tying. I did that for a while, but now I just use old braid as backing, so no measuring required.
  17. I always tie a 15ft leader on my braid. Hate having to retie leaders when out on the water.
  18. MF/F are both fine for spinnerbaits, I personally prefer MF.
  19. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/berkley-rods-casting-rods-berkley-lightning-rod/berkley-lightning-rod-shock-casting/1365019.html#start=1 7'6" heavy
  20. for a frog rod, I personally like a 7' rod, because anything longer will cause me to hit the water with the tip when im working it. As far as power/action is concerned, I use a heavy/moderate fast. I like to be able to cast far, and have enough backbone for good hooksets.
  21. 15-20lb braid, but 30lb would be ok if you already have 30 and dont want to go buy 20. anything over 30 is too heavy.
