  1. yes it is. You want a reel with a super shallow spool, a cheap one would run you about $150 A light baitcast rod may be hard to find in the US but easy find in Japan, probably run you $100-150 for a decent one.
  2. I may grab one someday if i feel like my $70+ baits need extra protection.
  3. I think you are wasting your money if you want even more setups. From the few threads you opened lately, seems like you need to go out and fish instead of buying even more tackle.
  4. you have enough to catch fish. what are you going to add?
  5. I use alberto knot, 4-5 wraps each way, no supergue
  6. depends on the size of the hooks on the frog. For smaller 1/4oz frogs, I use 14lb mono and it works perfectly fine. For bigger frogs, iv also used 14lb mono in open water and sparse cover when im too lazy to remove the mono leader. It works ok but I wouldnt do it all the time. Straight braid is preferable but if you dont want to, 20lb+ mono is perectly fine if you get one with low stretch.
  7. You really only need 4-5 rods to cover all those techniques. Your spinnerbait, jerkbait, crankbait and swimbait can all be 1 rod. Jigs and texas rigs can be 1. Plastics and wacky can be 1. If you want to be like a pro fisherman and have 1 rod for every technique, go for it, but its a big waste of money for majority of us here. Buying 1 rod for 2, 3 or 4 different techniques is the way to go
  8. I use snaps a lot. Decoy egg snaps and round snaps
  9. fluorocarbon tends to twist a lot on spinning reels
  10. I just use bullet weights, makes no difference to me. I peg mine with a piece of rubberband
  11. What kind of question is that, of course you use it lol. So what if it breaks, no loss for you.
  12. Between those 2, orochi is the very easy choice
  13. I like my rebel bluegills and lucky craft bevy shad
  14. I dont have any rod that I can just throw around, I cherish all my equipment and take care of them because they are all pricey.
  15. you already know the answer for jerkbaits, attaching it to the split ring can affect its suspension due to the extra weight, if that matters to you. If not, and for other lures, I just attach it to the splitring if it comes with one, if it doesnt, snap it directly.
  16. sounds like the spool rim is slightly bent
  17. I do like the live target frog in 1/4oz. many of the 1/4oz pad crashers i bought were not made well, with hooks bent or the hole on the bottom off center. havnt had this problem with regular pad crashers
  18. take a pic of the side plate, the reel, and when you are trying to put it back on
  19. Daiwa Steez SV 103 and Zillion SV TW are tied for #1 spot as far as baitcasters are concerned. For spinning reels, its Daiwa Saltiga. That thing is powerful.
  20. I use arky 90% of the time, i make my own
  21. I fish ballhead around rock, for openwater i dont care what the shape is.
  22. Mister Twister Fat 5" grubs are my all time favorite
