  2. I always take the time to answer questions...
  3. Depending on the cover you are fishing I would use either 10 lbs copolymer or 30 lbs braid.
  4. Frogg Toggs.....are great!
  5. Besides a frog or trying to get a jig down thru an opening I also like to use a swim jig around the outside edges of the pads.
  6. For me at the moment it is swim jigs, North Star Original Swim Jig. 5/16oz in White, Black and Blue, New Gill and Watermelon Red Flash with matching trailers from Reaction Innovations Skinny Dippers.
  7. Well since I am from New Mexico we had no pro teams to cheer for so I began following these teams and it wasn't till I moved to Kansas City when I was 13 that I started following the Kansas City teams... Red Sox and Royals Patriots and Chiefs Bruins Celtics and of course Boomer Sooner....OU Alumni
  8. So I have made the decision to learn to fish crankbaits this year. So I would like to know what everyone's preference is for the following: Rod Power Rod Action Reel Gear Ratio and bait caster or spinning reel Type of line What pound test for line I will be fishing lipless, square bill, shallow and medium depth Crankbaits in a variety of different types of cover. Thanks,
  9. I wasn't expecting anything from the kids or grandkids but was totally surprised. Got some new North Star Jigs a Daiwa Tatula Type-R reel and a new Tatula rod...... It was a great day.....but the best present was my 3rd grandson who was born on the 11th.......hard to beat that little gift.....
  10. I get satisfaction from buying both. You can't buy one without the other is my theory....lol
  11. I prefer a swim jig for a search bait...
  12. That is a big BEAUTIFUL HAWG.....
  13. North Star has great customer service, fast shipping and great products....
  14. A swim jig always works well for me in the rain.
  15. Those are great....lol
  16. What are you calling light weight lures? I would recommend either Seaguar Inviz-X 10-12lbs fluorocarbon or Yo-Zuri Hybrid 10-12lbs copolymer line.
  17. Depends on the person. I prefer bait casters over spinning reels any day and every day. So to answer your question does a bait caster improve or help your fishing, for me yes it does. But I am sure the answers you get will very quite a bit. and welcome to the forums...
  18. Seibert Outdoors is one of the only people I know that makes jigs with tungsten. He has a great selection of colors to choose from. Probably be the best place for you to look and get an idea of what you actually want. Color all depends on the clarity of the water you are fishing.
  19. 5/16oz North Star original Swim Jig in white with white trailer or black and blue with black and blue trailer. Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper for trailers.
  20. That is to funny.....
  21. Great advice and the line is very good also.
  22. Mr Swim Jig replied to Cujjoz's topic in Fishing Tackle
