  1. I have a couple Falcon Cara T7 rods and they are great rods...
  2. I use a MH/MF rod for light swim jigs 1/4oz and 5/16oz and a MH/F rod for heavy cover swim jigs 3/8oz and 1/2oz...I prefer fluorocarbon for fishing light swim jigs and braid for heavier swim jigs.
  3. War Eagle and North Star Baits, these are my 2 favorites...
  4. They are an AMAZING product...
  5. ww2farmer said he wasn't interested in a 380, but I just picked up a Beretta Pico 380 just to see how well and easily you could conceal it. It easily fits in the side pocket of my cargo shorts. Man is this thing tiny, it is the new updated model. It shoots extremely well and is extremely accurate. It is so tiny compared to my every day carry Sig P320 9mm in compact. Which I still carry everyday and I am in shorts and a t-shirt pretty much 24/7. I have a Alien Gear IWB Cloak Tuck 3.0 and a Alien Gear carry belt. Extremely comfortable holster.
  6. Every rod I have ordered on-line has always came in either a PVC tube or heavy duty cardboard tube...
  7. I fish senkos on fluorocarbon exclusively. I would fish them with whatever you are most confident in, if you are getting bites with braid I wouldn't change.
  8. Yes just remove the rattles...
  9. I don't use a trailer hook on my spinner baits, it is pretty much all personal preference.
  10. A swim jig and the rain is a deadly combination, I would use either white, black and blue or a blue gill type color and have a few different size matching trailers.
  11. I always tie direct for top water baits, to me adding a snap just adds another possible weak spot.
  12. I use a Daiwa Tatula rod that is a MH/R for all of my swim jigs, bladed jigs and spinner bait applications. The Daiwa Tatula Regular action is basically a Moderate Fast and that is the only type of rod I will use for these types of baits. You should not have nay problems at all, I have never had any issue getting a good hook set or any problems fishing moderate to thick grass. and welcome Swimjigger to the forums!!
  13. Braid is your best choice and I would use Daiwa Samurai braid in 55lbs test, I am not a fan of using a leader. If you are worried about fishing in clear water then I would use Seaguar Tatsu or AbrazX line in a 15, 17 or 20lbs test.
  14. I use P-Line Floroclear and have never had it break off when fishing jigs with it. I use 10lbs line for my swim jigs 1/4oz to 5/16oz and 12lbs line and up for jig fishing. Just be careful when tying your line and retie frequently to help avoid any problems.
  15. Really hard to beat the Pflueger President spinning reel...
  16. I agree 100% with Glenn on this one...Tatsu is the best fluorocaron line in my opinion but Seaguar InvizX is also pretty good line as well.
  17. 3 rods come to mind, Daiwa Tatula 7' 1" MH/XF, 7' 2" H/F and the 7' 4" H/F Frogging rod...
  18. Aetos rods are great, but you just don't hear much about them. Fenwick's customer service is also outstanding!
  19. Really like the Floroclear and CX but not a big fan of CXX...
  20. This would be a tough choice, I use both and they are both great baits!
  21. I have come custom ones that a member on here made but I also use Z-Man and the Strike King bladed jigs.
  22. I use Northstar Swim Jigs pretty much exclusively in 5/16oz and pretty much use 3 colors. White, Black and Blue and New Gill, there are tons of colors out there so don't get overwhelmed with the colors. For trailers I like swim bait style trailers the best, Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper, Big Bite Baits Cane Thumpers etc...I also use single tail and dual tail grubs and sometimes I even use Yamamoto Swim Senkos.
  23. Lets hope the Blues keep it together and bring the cup back to St Louis....
  24. You can't go wrong with any of the reels you mentioned. I have Tatula Type-R reels, regular Tatula reels and a coupe of the new Tatula CT Type-R reels and I absolutely love all of them and have not had any problems with any of these reels.
