  1. Never had a problem with one and I have been fishing them since they hit the market.
  2. I also use the 7' 2" MH/R for swim jigs, it is an absolutely amazing rod for swim jigs and spinner baits.
  3. Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper...
  4. Weed guards on swim jigs should be fairly small and light and you definitely could fish them without the weed guard. For trailers I like Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper, Swim Senko, Big Bite Baits Cane Thumper and single and dual tail grubs. There really is no wrong trailer for a swim jig...
  5. All 3 of them have there time and place...all 3 of them are in my arsenal and I always have one of each tied on and ready to go. But there is no way that I would ever stop using any of those 3 baits...
  6. NorthStar Custom Baits is my favorite brand of jigs. I use the Black Series and the Hair Jig for finesse and the Original and Flip&Swim Jigs. Favorite colors are Black and Blue, PB&J and Chaos for the Black series, Black and Blue, PB&J and Brown Craw for hair jigs and White, Black and Blue, Watermelon Red Flake, New Gill and Sexy Shad for swim jigs.
  7. Personally I like to fish swim jigs and spinner baits in clear water as well as tubes and creature style baits.
  8. This is also my favorite for fishing tubes...
  9. I always have one on me and have one in a compartment on the boat as well. The wife always has one her as well.
  10. I am a diehard Sig Sauer guy, I have a P226 9mm, P229 9mm, P320 Compact in 9mm and a P320 Compact in Sig 357. The P320 is quickly becoming my favorite pistol, the P320 Compact 9mm is my every day carry pistol as well. I have tried several Glocks and just don't care for them, I was at the range a couple weeks ago and tried the HK VP9 and was very impressed with this pistol. I would go to a range that allows you to rent fire arms and try them out, but I would take a good look at the Sig P320.
  11. I use a Daiwa Tatula 7' 2" MH/R for swim jigs...
  12. I use a Daiwa Tatula 7' 2" MH/R rod for chatterbaits, swimjigs and spinnerbaits...
  13. I have both reel manufactures in my arsenal and both companies produce a top quality product, you won't be sorry with either one of these two manufactures. It all will come down to preference...But I personally prefer my Daiwa reels, just saying...
  14. I personally use and love the Tackle Warehouse backpack for bank fishing. Plenty of room and very well made and comfortable to wear all day long.
  15. I don't use a trailer or a trailer hook, if I am getting hits but not catching any fish then I will change up the spinner bait. Size, blades, color etc...
  16. North Star Baits Original Swim Jig in 5/16oz is my goto swim jig for pretty much any situation. As for colors keep it simple, white, black and blue and a type of blue gill pattern(I personally like the New Gill color). As for trailers that is wide open, my personal preference is Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper. I will also use single tail, dual tail grubs, creature style baits, etc... There really is no wrong type of trailer. Sometimes you will want a trailer that makes a lot of thump and sometimes you may want one that makes very little, sometimes you may want a really big trailer and other times you may want something small and compact. The fish will let you know, For retrieve I will fish them a variety of different ways. I will fish them fast and slow and everything in between once again really is no wrong way to fish a swim jig. Just have to experiment with them and find what works best for you because what works well for me may not work well for you...
  17. I have tried all the things listed and finally have given into my Doctor and am having surgery for carpal tunnel, I just told him I couldn't have the surgery till fishing season was over...lol Trying different things helped but it would eventually come back and come back a little worse each time...
  18. When you are comparing those reels it comes down to what feels better to you.
  19. I have several Tatula rods and a couple of the older and the newer Zillion rods and love them all. Hard to beat the Tatula rods at there price point in my opinion.
  20. Daiwa Tatula rods or Daiwa Tatula XT casting rods. For fluorocarbon I would go with either 12 or 15lbs test depending on the cover you are fishing.
  21. I use North Star Baits Original Swim Jig in 1/4oz and 5/16oz and the Flip and Swim Jig in 3/8oz and 1/2oz for heavy cover...
  22. Yes there is a BIG differnce between those 2 rods. Typically a top water rod is about 6' 6" and M/F to M/XF and a frog rod is typically 7' 4" or so and is typically H/F to XH/F...
