  1. pflueger doesnt make pfluegers reels so they dont make someone elses
  2. you wont be disappointed with the symetre. You will be disappointed with the president (the reel or of the country) mktrout
  3. flourocarbon is stiffer than mono, which means more backlashes. Some of the new lines they are coming out with this year are less stiff.
  4. "Lead is only harmful if ingested' This is a 100% wrong statement. All the lead from lost sinkers is gradually leaching into the water. This effects everything that lives in the water and the drinking water. thats why they are illegal to buy in NY now.
  5. its a shame that shakespeare as a big company is like this. All star used to make good stuff, but I doubt I will ever buy anything with there name on it again because I can get comperable stuff with good support and warranties. I don't like anything this company deals with, all they do is make stuff cheap and crap, like ugly stick, pflueger, and now all star.
  6. Geez. I have all star rods I hope they dont break. How did you break three rods though.
  7. silstar doesnt own shakespeare. That doesn't mean they dont make the reels. Look at specs, its pretty clear who makes them.
  8. ok, in the $59 range. The Shimano sahara. Its smoother, has a metal frame vs. graphite in the president. President also has that stupid wooden handle in an attempt to made it look expensive. Plus if you use the president for large fish they have a tendency to strip the gears when a lot of line is screaming out the drag. anything else?
  9. hahahaha. Any lure you use will result in wear and tear. You dont want knicks in it, dont use it. It's one lure... why go through the hassle when you can just buy another one.
  10. unless your in a bass tournament, just enjoy the musky. 30 lb muskie is way more fun that a bass anyways.
  11. there are reels twice as good as any pflueger that cost the same amount. Dont let people fool you. Name any pflueger and i can tell you a reel better that costs the same.
  12. if you want the best then no question its the stella
  13. its really no different than plastics on a different baitcaster. Why dont you use a spinning outfit instead of a spincast, what do you have a zebco 202?
  14. there is no comparison in that price range it is the shimano symetre. Get it, he will be happy. Oh and by the way the retail price of the medalist is 79, not 99, and the symetre is 5 times better for the same price.
  15. quality reels are not measured by the number of bearings today except by uneducated fisherman who think it matters. The reel you got it is very nice.
  16. a couple of my most used stickbaits are BPS minnows. I went through 6 of one color this past season to pike and musky though.
  17. they arent expensive at all when compared to the other two brands you mentioned.
  18. the citica price wont go down, there are not new ones coming out.
  19. They started to hit the stores last month, ie. the revo, steez, zillion, etc. They usually come out all the way to the spring. mktrout
  20. you can just measure the bearings and order them from a bearing company. However and good quality bearing will cost double what you paid that reel. mktrout
  21. I was wondering if anyone has melted down powerbait like you can other plastics to repour it to something else. Can it be done or is there something different to the formula that it wont turn out right. Thanks mktrout
  22. wow, you really went hot sauce crazy. That is exactly why I dont like the stuff. All the red is leftover residue... that can't be good.
  23. symetre. Its so much better than other reels in its price range it isnt funny.
