You got that right!!! We put my boat in on Friday to check everything out and as soon as I got the boat back on the trailer it started hailing!!!! That right there had my mind mest up. We started in grays creek and looked promissing caught a 3 pounder first cast after that nothing. The next day we went back out we decided to try the south Carolina side out. Started out with a 2 pounder that was it. About 1:00 we went farther up and and we found a good are and started catching good fish left and right just no 5 pounders. The guy who caught the 2nd place fish caught it with a spinner bait in 2 inchs of water. the guy first place new what he was doing but I think it was mostly luck of the draw. Defiantly had a blast my first time on such a beUtiful lake.

jeeze it was a bad day. Started off good caught 3 right in the same place but no big ones. I slowed it down a bit and speed up tryed to match the same key features and nothing after those three. Were going to a diffrent part of the lake. I did happen to see fish that were very small looked like they were making beds getting ready for females. We tryed to get multiple patterns but never could.

I have a 2 stroke 135 mercury and I think my boat will hold 24 gallons but I don't know because the label is faded and I have never had the gas low enough to fill it up to figure out how much it will hold. Just really trying to get a reference to go by to see how far I can travel in confidence

Just curious how many gallons does your boat hold? How many miles have you traveled on a lake comfortably.

Answer the phone next time and see if there's actually someone calling you. My phone that has caller ID will call its self back sometimes for some dumb reason but it doesn't happen often. If someone does answer just hang up then you know not to answer it. Just tell them not to call your home anymore or you will get the law involved for harassment. I don't get telemarketing calls anymore, maybe i'm just lucky

Have you answered the phone to find out who is calling? Does it happen soon after you get off the phone?

I feel like my casting is way better when I have braid on my reels. I've had some braid on one of my reels for 2 years and backlashed twice. I defiantly would not throw fluro because it breaks if you get a backlash and not carefully pull it out. I think you should go with mono.

I'm glad I asked what a break line was I would have been fishing points all day. I knew points are structure but I was not sure if people just referred to it as a break line. My vocabulary it poor lol

I keep hearing the word break line and I want to make sure I got this right. A break line is a spot in the contour lines that has changed like a point or a piece of structure? Well I knew they didn't all spawn at one time, so will those prespawners be pulling back also?

The air temps around here have been 60's to 80's the past month. I don't know what the water temp is, I didn't have anything on my boat last week when I went fishing but the fish have been spawning. Im going this weekend and there's a cold front coming in dropping the temps to the 30's the days im fishing. How does a cold front effect spawning fish. Will that low of a temp effect them enough they will start being finicky.

I had my spots all planned out, been planning for a month for the spawn. Now theres a cold front coming through the 2 days of the tournaments. Do yall guys normally slow down your fishing on a cold front or do you fish the same just not in the spawning pockets?

I've been fishing the savannah river for a long time and never heard of anyone catching any or caught any myself. I've never caught or heard of anyone catching sturgeon either but that doesn't mean they arent there.

How did you get this knowledge?

To much work when you can go get 100 crickets and go fishing. Been catching Big bream my whole life on crickets. I've caught some pretty darn big bream with 1 cricket at a time. That's great dedication and I admire the hard work but I think its to much. Its all about how and were you fish.

I keep maybe 3 to 4 bass through out the year. There is noting wrong with keeping bass and they do taste good properly cooked. I agree with being illegal to keep them during the spawn though. The lake down the road from me I like to go try to catch some fish and throw back for fun and there will be people lined up with buckets by the spill way this time of year. I know exactly what they are doing and they are keeping everything they catch, even little 2 finger sized bream and its pathetic. It ticks me off because these are the people with food stamps and welfare selling there food stamps to get drugs and alcohol. I saw one guy get caught the other day by the game warden and the game warden looked in his bucket and asked him why he is keeping all these baby fish. The man said, I got to eat something. So the game warden said why do you smell like beer. Man said I like my beer. Game warden told him if you can afford beer you can afford food and I don't want to catch you back down here with a single fish under the size of my hand again and if you want to ruin the little bit of fishing we have left in this place you better think again and grabbed his bucket and pored all the fish back into the water. He got fired a few weeks later for standing up for what's right, in my opinion. There are so many people like that in my town that I see doing that every day.

Those rocks don't discriminate. I like to have a fluro leader tied onto my braid and the fluro is always the first think to pop when fishing around rocks. Is that something you normally do or is that not a good set up around rock? I'm still pretty new to fluro so I really don't understand it yet.

You don't have to go out and buy a new rig. I use my fresh water reels out in salt water all the time. Like the rest of the guys said, CLEAN it. The rod also because it will rust it up quickly.

I keep reading that braid is not very abrasion resistant. Is this true and why? Or did I miss read? From my experience I've never had braid break off on any type of structure. I also have trouble cutting it. Fluro and mono I have no problems just nipping it with my teeth but its impossible to cut braid with my teeth and also hard with my clippers. Is there a reason its said to be less resistant? I love my braid and I don't want that monster to get on and break me off on something because I only thought that my braid was the strongest and best way to go in that heavy structure.

I've had an instagram for about a year and I like it, not to big on posting pictures. I love having to keep up with the pros and a lot of companies, you can see a quick picture or short video it just seems a whole lot easier to go through and not have to read all your friends and others sad status updates. @blackmax135

Ive never been in a club before or really been around hardcore fisherman and its kind of nerve raking to go out around that for the first time and have in the back of my mind the embarrassment of doing something stupid or doing something that I don't know i'm doing wrong. The good thing is this tournament allows you to put in any boat ramp on the lake so that will help. But my worry is that being an amateur not having the experience to know what to do when I get to my spots I've marked and there be boats there. I don't think they will be doing the national anthem because there isn't a take off area, you just put in and go were you want and when a certain time hits you can start fishing. That would pump me up to here the national anthem before fishing. Thanks for the confidence boost bud!!! Now I just have to wait lol

Mines a motor guide I had to by pass the 12 to 24 volt switch in the foot control because it had burned out. It still worked but like you it ran as if the batteries were almost dead. But if that's not the problem make sure all the batteries are good and if they are I'm no use lol. Good luck man
