  7. Finally, after three tries of fishing in this cold water season, I managed to hook up with some bass. It wasn't easy, though. I went about 11:00 a.m. after the early service at Church had let out. I made my way down to my local fishing area, a small pond with a large creek running into it. As I approached the waters edge armed with spinnerbaits, some Berkely blade dancers, senkos, and live bait, I knew I was getting some bass this time. I started off like I usually do fishing for some bluegill and sunfish to warm things up. After catching five medium sunfish on live bait, I was ready to try for bass. I first tried the Berkely bladedancer, and after a few casts, it broke off. I then tried a spinnerbait for a few casts, slow rolled, with no success. I knew they were there, but how to catch them? I then tied on a 4 inch green flaked senko, and dipped it in some Wal-Mart brand bass scent. On my first cast, I hooked a bass, but it got off. I continued casting to a sunken log, fishing the senko by casting and occasionally wiggling it, and mainly letting it remain motionless. After fishing for a while, I finally managed to hook and land my first bass of 2007. It was only about 13 inches, but it was a chunky little thing. I then realized that I had forgot my camera (great... : ), so I released it and casted again, still using that scent. I caught another smaller one thereafter, and released it, and as I did that, it started to sprinkle. There was overcast conditions, and I figured I better head back then. Well, there you have it. The fish are there, just harder to catch. Slow is the key!
  8. Ha Valascus I do that as well, sometimes. ;D

  13. I applaud you for your informative and interesting reply, Cart. That's a false statement entirely; you appear to be thinking of Jimmy Carter. It was he who put our economy into ruin.
  14. Or CNN "the most trusted, and "honored" name in news." :
  15. That's the spirit! ;D "Now women, here's the solution to all yer problems...blame your husband!" -Dr. Phil
  16. Agreed; let's kiss and make up! Well, don't do that....
  17. Ha, I got this book in the mail a while back, and they sent me well over eight notices trying to tell me they wanted it back or else. I laughed at the notices and trashed them. If someone sends you something through the mail without you asking for it, then you are under no obligation to send them anything. I like the book, and I may do like Fluke and sell it on Ebay. I will also have a book on the market, entitled the same, except mine will be selling for $40 because it has a rare and valuable signature which makes it worth over $200...mine. ;D
  18. On a lighter note, how about that weather? (Weather rants flying) Err, how about ole' Brittany Spears? (Hollywood rants flying) Oh, uh, how about THAT FISHING? IT'S GOOD, ISN'T IT??? Just trying to lighten things up guys...remember, we're among friends!
  19. I was referring to the warm spell.... I should have specified in that edit that he was speaking of this warm weather we've been having. As far as global warming itself, my stance is above on the previous post.
  20. Definitely! I wonder if an eagle could do that to a bobcat? If so, THAT would be ironic.
  21. Yeah, it almost just doesn't seem possible...
