  1. Which is better? - Both are outstanding in my opinion. On the Daiwa durability question - I fish the Sols,Fuegos, TD-As and have never had a mechanical problem with any of them. I treat them pretty rough too. Never had a problem with my Citica either.
  2. I do the same thing. Funny part is, I always end up coming back to Pline CX Premium.
  3. 8# on a spinning rig works great. thin, strong and not much memory . the only problem is if you want to line watch. that silver color is really hard to see.
  4. I love CX Premium. I use 6,8,10 and 12 pounds. Low memory, very strong. It has the smallest diameter to breaking strenght ratio that I have found. Works great on spinning gear. Never have used CXX because the CX's diameter is thinner for the same breaking strenght.
  5. Out of my current arsenal I would do this. 6' M/F Falcon Lowrider spinning rod. Daiwa Tierra 1500 spinning reel. PLine CX Premium 8#. 1. Zoom Big Tube - black w/ blue flake. 2. Zoom Trick worm any color. 3. Yo-Zuri Ultra Vibe - shad pattern. 4. Strike King Zulu in pearl white (I can fish this on top or weighted). 5. Norman Middle N -shad pattern.
  6. What bait or technique are you going to work on perfecting next year? Why? I'm going to master fishing the "Trap" next year. I need to improve my fish finding skills. I found myself spending to much time fishing unproductive water last year.
  7. Today it is the tube. Tomorrow, probably something else.
  8. 6' 10" mh/xf = 1/4 to 1/2 oz jigs, c-rig and heavy spinner baits. 6' 6" m/xf = 1/8 oz jigs, t-rigged plastics, cranks, spinner baits. I really love this rod.
  9. The Academy's in Houston have the new TD-Advantage. I was looking at it last week. I've got last years TD-A and it is a great reel. The new version is really sweet, at least it feels that way at the counter. I too am going to get one with Christmas gift cards.
  10. I have a 6'6" m/xf and a 6'10" mh/xf and I think they both are pretty stiff. I like both and have caught a ton of fish with them. Mine are the brown ones, circa 2006.
  11. Wow. When will they be available on the website?
  12. Zoom Trick Worm on a split shot rig.
  13. Sent my reels to Reel Mech for cleaning. They are coming back with with Carbontex drag washers and ceramic reel support bearings.
  14. Reelmech is upgrading the bearings and drag washers on my Fuego and Advantage.
  15. I had a big carp bang into my canoe.
  16. Hey RobbyZ - This place has always welcomed everyones opinions even if they are unpopular. Keep them coming. I understand your point and somewhat agree on the tourny end of it. But rules are rules. Who cares what muddy thinks, heck he fishes with Pfluegers.
  17. Do you think a cave man had just one spear? The bait monkey is older than the thumb.
  18. The 200 has a different set of gears. HEG I think they call them. I think they are bigger and more robust. I'm not sure it makes all that much difference for most Bass fishing.
  19. That Java thing he is throwing looks a lot like a LFT Live Magic Shad.
  20. The handle that came on it it has a ton of play in it. Just real sloppy. Actually it is play in the knob. They should have put a spacer in it to take up the slack. The screw is tight so that is not the problem. So in short, I would like a handle with little to no play in it. (I never really noticed it till I bought a Tierra. Now that is a sweet reel.)
  21. See the banana. Be the banana.
  22. Standard convention says to down size your baits and slow way down. My experience says to just get out and enjoy your day. Tough fishing is tough fishing. I'd rather fish than hang around the house doing busy work.
  23. I have a Symetre 2500. I love the reel but absolutely hate the handle. Is this upgradeable? If so, where? Google search sent me to ebay, not my preferred route. Thanks for any info.
  24. All hail KU Mookmaster !
