  1. I prefer the spook over the kvd bait. Just change out the hooks on the spook.
  2. Depends where you are fishing as far as cover goes. If it's got a lot of trees/brush I put the tubing over the eye of the hook and then pierce the buzzbait hook through that. The downside to this is that if the hook goes sideways on landing, it will stay sideways through the retrieve, but it keeps you from snagging most of the time. You can do it the way you said, but the hook can flop all over the place and get you snagged. It boils down to personal preference.
  3. The only time I ever modify a buzzbait is in the fall fishing lake of the ozarks. I throw the Omega buzzbait in black and tip it with a Lake Fork Live Magic Shad (the fork tail one, not the boot tail) and slow roll it just enough to make the blades barely bubble the surface. By cables, under walkways, inside boat slips and along docks will get this thing absolutely pulverized.
  4. Jig, t-rig baby brush hog, frog
  5. Every parent has to appreciate that one. Brought a much needed smile to my day.
  6. When my wife was in her early teens, she witnessed a friend and team-mate get struck by lightening on the soccer field. She is petrified of storms now and gets extremely nervous when I go fishing if there is even a chance of bad weather.
  7. I've also used shad guts. Take white sewing thread and wrap it around the guts to a circle hook. Skip under overhangs, docks, rocks, and hold on.
  8. Congrats on the PB! Update your profile pic now!
  9. Send me a link to the video Brian, I'm off the facebook grid.
  10. When you say too small to fillet, how small are you talking? I've filleted some pretty small bluegill and never really had a problem with it.
  11. I would prefer the bigger boat. As said above, it's not just a foot and a half
  12. X2! Pm bluebasser86 and thank us later.
  13. Dude, those things weren't mosquitoes... those were like freaking hummingbirds! I swear, I smacked one and it smacked me back!
  14. Lol, It was freaking hot. Like sweat beading off while sitting in the shade hot. Oh well, I had a good time, and got some much needed time with the family and away from freaking work. I still think a person needs a stay-cation for a day or two to recover from the vacation.
  15. No posts are as entertaining as Tinberg's posts. It's even worse when you re-read it several times in any of the goofy voices he uses while in the boat. lol.
  16. Gorgeous lake and amazing community. This lake is built for giants, and they are there for sure. I'd like to be on it in March/April thats for sure.
  17. X2. I still pick up different techniques from him.
  18. Fishing was fairly slow. It was hot hot hot there so it was to be expected. Had a giant LMB miss a spook once then hit it easily 4 foot in the air on his second attempt. Wouldn't touch a follow up senko. That was at the private lake. Only other notable this was being spooled in the lagoon. 7' mh ugly stick with a Abu orra sx spinning reel and braid. Knocked 3 feet of slack in my line while I was slow rolling a 4" gulp mullet on a 1/4 oz gulp darter head. After I set the hook there was nothing I could do with it. Tightened down drag to the point I thought the rod was gonn break. I had to have had the dumbest look on my face ever and I literally just say down and laughed when it was done.
  19. On the island. Hitting some golf course ponds tomorrow morning as well as the lagoon
  20. My question also. If you didn't get an email saying you sent money or if it doesn't show up in your paypal account I would question if your order went through.
  21. They are no where near the same technique. A shakeyhead, you maintain constant contact with your bait at all times, and always fish it on the bottom. The Ned is almost dead-sticking. You never feel your bait, if you are doing it correctly. (which is why I think most have issues using it) I use it a lot for suspended bass as well.
  22. Jared's bait! Glad he took you under his wing and taught you about those right?
  23. Money buys a waverunner.... ever seen someone frown on a waverunner? Gotta love Tosh
