Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
Went out with my tournament partner for a fun day of fishing for some post spawn bass. In the last creek arm that we were fishing that day, we saw a big fish on a bed still. We made a few flips, but scared the fish off. We came back 5-10 minutes later and we could see that the fish was back. I stepped up on the front deck next to my buddy and made one flip and a short hop. Boom, fish on! We thought for certain that it was a 7+ pound largemouth based on the size of the shadow we saw...

Anyone own the avid x 7’ med fast spinning rod?
I have one. It's an all purpose power and action.

Fantasy Fishing 2018
I've picked Crews a few times in the past. The guy is usually one of the last few guys to get a check, but he does well enough to make that happen.

Fantasy Fishing 2018
A. Bobby Lane - the guy knows how to catch big fish and he can catch them shallow B. Cliff Crochet - he's local and pretty successful on river systems C. Keith Combs - Texas boy can catch em D. Robbie Latuso - my dark horse for this event. LA boy with success on river systems E. Dave Lefebre - he's had a tough year, and he's due to have a good tournament

G. Loomis TWFR or shimano Zodias
Both are quality rods that I'm sure you will enjoy. One thing to note, the Zodias does not have a hook keeper on it.

Swim jigs and paddle tails in ultra clear water.
I love a good bluegill colored swim jig right now whenever the gills are on beds and the bass are munching on them.

Swim jigs and paddle tails in ultra clear water.
Your swim jig collection looks a lot like mine.

Shimano chronarch for frogs
I stand corrected. Thanks for correcting me fellas!

Shimano chronarch for frogs
Short term, no. Long term, I believe yes.

Shimano chronarch for frogs
The Chronarch MGL should work fine for frogging. It's not my ideal choice because it doesn't have brass gears, but it should serve you just fine.

More XI5 problems
That's odd. My father has one on his Blazer for the past two seasons and it's performed perfectly. Hopefully Motor Guide can get you straightened out.

Sign of a good day on the water
Sure, having a bass thumb is cool and all... But for me, the sign of a great day on the water is whenever my ribs are bruised and sore from setting the hook and fighting fish all day. Sure I'm not the only who gets this side effect from a good day of fishing...

Dig in issue with braid on frog rod
You're using an 8 carrier braid with the 832. Try switching to a 4 carrier braid and see if that helps. Bumping up to 65lb. test should help too.

Trying Berkely Ribsnake
Another vote for using them on a Shakeyhead. Don't be afraid to Neko rig them too ?

The Most
I'd have to count... But it's either Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps, or Rapala DT's. Plastics - Keitech Swing Impact Fat. Hands down.

Lew’s hypermag speed spool vs. shimano Chronarch MGL
I own 4 of the Chronarch MGL reels. It's probably my favorite all around reel ever made. I can't recommend them enough. As for a lews, I have never owned one. However, I have also never held a lews reel that I felt was worthy of me spending my hard earned money on.

Flea Market Posting
It is a downfall. I've made numerous posts on here trying to sell something at a price I felt was fair but it doesn't get the attention/offers that I feel it should. So you're left either dropping your price or trying to sell it elsewhere.

Weirdest pattern you’ve ever been on?
Two years ago in May... Smallmouth were holding on any piece of wood you could find near the shore. I caught six smallmouth that day over 20" and numerous in the upper teens. <<<See profile pic.

Shimano Scorpion 1501
Isn't there a 50 size and a 100/200ish sized Scorpion? Perhaps you're seeing different models and noticing different spools and not that they're different sized reels.
- Which color do you use?

Presque Isle PA
Guys are catching them. Two buddies of mine had a 105 fish day about a week ago.

Anybody using p-line tactical?
I've been using this stuff a fair bit. I like it almost as much as my Sniper FC (my go to). Pro's: Low memory Casts well Smooth handling Strong and abrasion resistant Good knot strength Con's: Pricey Only available in 200yd spools (I've emailed Pline 3 times about this. See below) Slightly larger diameter compared to similar pound test Sunline FC's. I have emailed Pline telling them that I would buy bulk spools of Tactical if they offered them. The first email was right after it was released and I didn't get an answer. The second email they said "We will consider this for the future". Then after my third email they asked me "What size bulk spool would you be interested in?". So hopefully they will start offering larger spools soon (I'm hoping for 600 or 1000yds).

Fantasy Fishing 2018
I ended up with 3 guys in the top 7 this tournament. Now if I can do that the rest of the year, I should be right back up there at the top of the group.
