Snacking! Seriously though I got caught up in this at a fishing show and got to handle one. It is incredibly light and felt really good so the bait monkey got the better of me. I bought a 6'9" MH F LTX and have matched it with a Revo Premier (figured I'd try a new model reel with it too). The combo is very light and feels really great. I have yet to use it but I plan on using it mostly for t rigs and smaller jigs. I doubt I'll like it more than my Powell 703C & TD Z but you never know. I'll probably bring it to Guntersville to give it a trial run....we'll see.

Fortunately I live near a Bass Pro Shop....I go there and see if I can get out without buying anything......still trying, hasn't happened yet.

I have a Shimano Sahara reel on a BPS Extreme rod that I use alot. Truthfully I like it as much as some of my more expensive set ups.

This is how I do Crappie: Spray a cookie sheet and filets with butter cooking spray. Place filets on cookie sheet and sprinkle liberally with Italian Seasoning spices (or oregano and garlic powder). Then sprinkle the filets very liberally with fresh parmesan cheese. Pre heat oven to 350 and bake for 12 - 15 minutes....serve over rice or spaghetti....YUM!!!! I always serve this with rattatouille.

I would comment that a 7' rod would give you longer casts but may limit you on shore if you are dealing with overhanging trees etc...if you are in the open I would go 7'
