I don't know about all this frog talk but I had a ball with a Rage Tail Shad fishing grass on Barkley last Sunday. Fish in the grass liked it real well!!

I haven't had alot of luck fishing jigs. Just a few fish here and there. A couple weeks ago I went jigging and finally broke thru and caught a number of fish. Here was the gear used: Custom rod made for me by Alpster as a thank you, paired with a Cronarch 50MG (had to use that reel on an Alpster rod).....THANKYOU again Ronnie, I really treasure this rod Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft......Roadwarrior put me on this line and it is what I mostly use Jigs made by BR member GMAN (love these jigs GMAN) Zoom super chunk jr marinated in JJ's magic which I received at the BR trip in Guntersville Just an example of helpful connections I have made at Bass Resource

I have no problem with imports etc... and I like the rod..... Just think it's kind of funny that a company that is importing stuff name is "American Rodsmiths" .....the name would lead one to believe they have a bunch of American craftsman building the rods. Ronnie, I kind of think of you, Reelmech and Flechero as American rodsmiths

Just bought an "American" Rodsmiths cranking rod. Ironic that it's made in China given their name. I like it and think it will serve it's purpose well though.

Soooo.....out on Saturday deep crankin with a Norman DD22 Didn't even think I had anything on but in comes this crappie.....what was that fish thinking.....that lure is 5X the size of the fishes mouth....guess he thought he was going to eat it in pieces....I was amazed at the hutzpah that fish had.... BUT THEY ARE SURE GOOD TO EAT!!!!

I have season tickets for the Titans and its the same story here.....pre season games are a ripoff IMHO...just greed because the NFL can get away with it. I'll be down when you have a home game against the Steelers!!! I hate seeing grown men cry so you would be better off staying home!!

Best day ever on Friday....spent the day crankin a Norman DD14 (sexy shad)...got my PB at 6 lbs 10 oz (see my avatar) another at 5 lbs and another at 3 1/2 lbs. Had a 5 fish limit of about 20 lbs. Caught on Lake Barkley....right next to the site of the BR Road Trip 2009, don't miss it....where else can you fish two great lakes that are just a few miles apart.

They say it's going to be really nice. Kind of bittersweet to me. Being an old timer I loved the old house that Ruth built prior to the current renovation. I grew up in the era of the late 50's and early 60's, Mantle was my hero. But things move on and progress is necessary so I'm anxious to see the new place. I'm going to a couple games in July so I'll get a peek at the construction site.
