  1. I've been thinking about doing tournaments next year. The deal is I really don't want a big bass boat so I may give up on the idea and just keep fishing for lunkers. A boat like yours with a deck may be in my near future. Maybe?
  2. Ahh, Looking forward to your review.
  3. That and anything else to super duty the reels. Suggestions?
  4. Those TS rods are probably the best rod for that price on the planet. I've had a coupe in my hands. Really nice rods. Congrats!
  5. Would that be a crank rod in the delay series?
  6. When I was younger I fished a lot of tourneys. A bass boat was a must have and a fantastic toy.. 10 years after I bought a sport fishing boat and was Tuna fishing. Bass .were a thing of the past. I fished deep for about 4 years. Then I stopped fishing.. Years past and I boat a kayak and rigged it for bass fishing, long before anybody even considered them for fishing. After a couple years I sold it for the same reasons you mention. As cool as the new kayaks are they don't work for me either. I bought a canoe that I knew I could rig and be comfortable with. The canoe eliminates the bass boat issues. I do trailer the canoe but it's light and I can store it right in my garage. The only items I remove from it while in tow are my rods, batteries and T motors. I power it with a 55 Minn Kota and I have a 30 Minn Kota up front. It's set up like a bass boat. To totally stabilize it for standing and casting I built an easy on easy off outrigger. It's planted! The right canoe is something you may want to consider. Mine is a 14' fiberglass deep hull with a shallow v bottom. It's tricked out for bass fishing. I enjoy the heck out of it.
  7. I'll be out on the water this week with the 74-6. I'll post a review.
  8. The weather was lousy again, I didn't go.. Maybe this week I'll go hunt for him.
  9. I'm hoping to get a nice one for $350.00-$400.00 I'll go higher if I have to.
  10. I want the one that's tattoo'd with a naked lady!
  11. I can't disagree.. another concern. I'll go out board but I'm going two stroke. I found a guy online in the next town over from me that buys small motors and services them before he sells them. His prices seem fair. I'm going to stop by his home shop this week and take a look at what he has. If he doesn't have one I like I'm going to have him call me when he finds one, let him service it and buy it. I want a motor with the throttle on the tiller handle.
  12. A nice picture holding the fish works for me.. Unless its a State Record.
  13. You're absolutely right. When I realized this I recommended the Calcutta but they aren't cheap. Go ahead and fix it if you like the reel. It won't break the bank to do it. Use it and enjoy.
  14. I agree, knowing this as you do has kept me from buying one. Another possibility is this Elec. motor: http://www.ebay.com/itm/24V-2-hp-110-lbs-Variable-Speed-Transom-Mount-Motor-Electric-Trolling-Motor-/221804815552?hash=item33a498e4c0:g:HngAAOSwHnFVg7D1&vxp=mtr It only weighs 18 pounds and should push my canoe to about 8 mph +- What do you guys think of it..?
  15. Pflueger Supreme is a great reel. You can find them on ebay for $80.00 sometimes. Take a look when you get a chance.
  16. I did buy the rudder.. It really has made a difference. The canoe tracks and steers better, especially backing up. The other thing I like about it is, it keeps weeds off the prop. In the heavy stuff it has made a big difference. Money well spent.. Thx for the encouragement to buy.
  17. The 4 strokes are nice but they're a lot heavier than the two strokes so the two is what I want to stick with. My Minn Kota 55 Rip Tide weighs 23 pounds, about the same a two stroke.
  18. Good to hear your purchase items arrived. I know what you mean about the weather. Oct. has been super lousy. Today is no exception. I'm planning to go Tuesday. The weather is supposed to be fantastic. We'll see when we get there....
  19. I like the price I can get the Hangkai for and I'm told its a Yamaha motor knock off. I've talked with a fisherman on one of the lakes I frequent who has one on a small jon boat. He love's it so far and has used it this entire season but also knows at any minute it could fail and become a through away. Definitively one of my concerns. My canoe will easily handle a 3 hp motor. It's an early RiverJammer made in NH, all hand laid glass mat with a deep hull, shallow v bottom, 40"s wide.
  20. Here it is.. I removed the front seat and installed a flat board shelf, I can easily place two batteries up front now. You can see the change from the pic to the video. That's an outrigger in the boat that attaches quickly. It really stabilizes the canoe. I can stand and cast all day in any conditions.
  21. Has anyone here bought an Ike rod?
  22. Try using a Rat L Trap...
  23. For $30,000.00 you can buy a woman from a number of different countries too. Pick your poison!!
