Seriously Light weight. Small, in Fact Tiny! Smooth as Glass. The knobs are fantastic. Balances well on my G Loomis. It's a total "10". I'm buying another if I can get it. From what I'm told this is the very first one sold and delivered to the buyer. The release date is in Oct.

i want more top end speed than I'm getting now. Just under 4 mph. 10 would be good. Any recommendations?

I found this thread in a Google search. Glad I did. So my 14' canoe and 55# Rip Tide will benefit from the rudder? I use my canoe in the reverse often because I like to fish alone. Do you guys think it will help or hinder the rudder performance? Also does it affect top end speed or acceleration?

I've been using P-Line CX and been very happy with it. I'm open minded so I'll give the Izorline a try when I have to re spool.

I get the feeling the Gliis line will be in the same bunk house. I'll stick with just the Original for now.

I have Lews Pliers that cut great but, I can't get close enough to the knot easily. The Boomerang's seem like a good choice. I'm going with them.

I suppose I could use the SS8 in open water and the original with a leader in cover or structure. I would think the casting distance of the SS8 would be a bit further. I also bought a couple spools of Gliss I haven't tried yet. That will be very interesting. It doesn't look very tough on the surface.

I'm going to give Power Pro a try. Should I buy the Spectra or the super Slick? I've used 832 and Kast King so far. The 832 on my flipping rod. The 50# should be a good all around diameter for casting so that's what I'm thinking I'll buy. Let me know your thoughts.

The reel is in Boston as of early afternoon. I'm sure it will arrive tomorrow.

I agree they really are. The customer service is top notch too. If they offered a 6' MH custom I'd have bought one.

I saw the Team Pro reels for 199 on ALF.. Hope the Magnesium reel is all its supposed to be. I can't imagine it not being the cats meow.

Hey pg I expected the reel to show yesterday. I can live with the delay. I'll focus on the IMX rod today then pair it with the Mag reel mid week and get out in the water again. Review to follow. Good post Chel, I'm liking the direction Lews is going in. They certainly aren't sitting in there butts. The new Tournament Pro reel will be a hit too. It has a lower profile.

I've used CX, no problems at all but.. I'd like to find a thinner diameter line with the same test rating. Sniper is looking good.

I know what you've been going thru pond king. I recently went thru a similar debate with myself. I ended up buying a G Loomis IMX Classic which arrived a couple days ago. I haven't fished with it yet. But, I am also waiting on an Avid to arrive mid week. The G Loomis is a Heavy Fast action. The Avid is a Medium Heavy fast action. Both rods are the same length. From what I hear the Avid is one power heavier than the Loomis. Both rods are for worms, jigs, spinner baits. These two will be my go to rods. I bought them to replace a couple of rods I wasn't thrilled with. One being a Premier, the other a Berkley. $260 and $160... We shall see how they stack up against each other. Pond King, I hope you like the rod you decided on.. I don't think you would have been unhappy either way.
