  1. The Super Duty has a wide deep spool. It's a great pitching reel. The line just rolls off it.
  2. I use the uni to uni 5 wraps. Haven't had a problem to date. I like the P-Line CX as a leader. 15 or 20# depending. I have no use for Flouro in any application. I just don't like it.
  3. Looks like I'll stick with Lews.
  4. I use 832 #65. Cast great and will not break. Trying 40# Kast King on a lighter rod. I'll use it around open water cover. Docks, fallen trees or branches...with a Jig or Worm.
  5. Mike, Be sure to let me know what to use for my reels. Looking forward to getting them back with the improvements! Wayne
  6. Sounds like a good idea. 9' is just way to long for me. lol
  7. I prefer the Tournament Pro to the MG or MB. But for your application I'd go Super Duty. Don't over think the gear ratio. Get the 8:1:1. Being a lefty reel lover I have no choice but to go 6:4:1. Tournament Pro above the Super Duty.
  8. I want a rod I can work with whether it be in shallow or deep water. I'm hoping to find a spinnerbait specific rated at 1/4-3/4 6'6" or 7' that is MF. I say that because I like the Team Lews crank bait rods so well. They do everything great. Basically I want the 6'6" or the 7' cranking rod I have but, with a fast tip that has been designed for spinner baits. Or I'll continue to use the 7' cranking Rod for spinnerbaits. It's been Stella so far doing double duties.
  9. They don't offer them anymore? Here's some advice. Buy a Tournament Pro. American Legacy Fishing has a deal going on. 139.00
  10. Looks like American Legacy Fishing has added Dobyns Rods in a big way to there inventory. Good to see that. They're a nice group of folks to deal with. I need a spinner bait rod, going in to the site to see what is available from Dobyns now.
  11. Are you going to paint a blank?
  12. Is the spinner bait rod weight range 1/4-5/8?
  13. I have two new crank bait rods that are just awesome. I also have a worm jig rod that does a great job for me. Since they are all job specific I figure I'll give a spinner bait rod a try, Like so many I've been using a couple of MHF rods.
  14. I want to buy another specific rod. A spinner bait rod is the only rod I'm missing. I've been using a few 1/4-3/4 rod for the job. All MHF. What's the story with the SB blank taper? How will I benefit from using one? I see most of them are 1/4-5/8. I have it in my mind that they are to lite. Wayne
  15. Do you know anything about Webster Lake? I haven't been there in years. It was a clear water nightmare back in the 80's.
  16. Fantastic Reel... 139 http://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/lew-s-tournament-pro-speed-spool-casting-reels.html
  17. Good for you, You're going to have a great time. I fish out of a canoe. It would be nice if there was a fishing club around here for guys with them. I could start one but I'm more interested in fishing. Congrats!
  18. I have one HMG casting rod left. I'm going to sell it. It's not for me but you may love them.
  19. I second this opinion, the Lews rods are just awesome. In fact I'm buying another one for spinner baits. Either the Team Rod or the Custom Soeed Stick. It will be my forth one.
  20. Pitching could also be called tossing.
  21. The title drew me in, the subject matter wasn't as interesting.
  22. This should be interesting! What will happen with quality? Where will the lures be made? How will prices change?
  23. I certainly hope you're right Jon!
  24. I compared Siege to P-Line CX on my bait casters. The P-Line won hands down. I'm pretty sure the Elite is used for spinning reels. It's more limp and does stretch more then Siege and CX.
  25. If it were me I'd be looking at a proven reel, but.... It sure does look nice and the price is great. Take a shot and buy one. Call Ardent for details on the reel.
