  1. Oops ! Why show the rod in the bed if that's not how he transports it.
  2. You really should take more care when transporting your gear. The tight line on the rod is also unnecessary. However IMO I don't believe that rod should have snapped if you hoisted a 3 pound bass up and into your boat. If your bait was reeled in to tight and was pressing into the tip of the rod then it's possible because the rod had no way to react to the weight of the fish. Only you know for sure.
  3. I suppose us old guys are brand and model loyal. Don't take it personally. My nephew has the max reel and has had great success.
  4. I have no idea, Check with a Bass Pro or Cabela's sales guy. I'd look for used gear of better quality for the same money.
  5. Those were the days Hootie...
  6. Never used balloons, what did they sound like?
  7. I'm using Suffix 832 65# with a 20# CX leader and KastKing 40# with a 15# CX leader. I'm going to dump the KastKing for 40# 832. It casts great.
  8. Hootie, that reminds me of when I was a kid. I'd use close pins on the front fork of my bicycle to hold picture cards in place while they flopped against the spokes of the wheel. They sounded like a old air compressor motor. It was a big deal back then. And: Dah! To You... lol
  9. I found plenty of quality rods with the right grip design, can't find a 6'mh. I'll have one built. I'm in the middle of casting rod build and a Lews Speed Stick customization right now with Ted at Aquidnick in Portsmouth RI. His rod builds are superb.
  10. Let me clarify. I want to buy a 6' MH spinning rod that has a cork grip.
  11. So you're recommending the aftermarket kip prop?
  12. Please recommend.. I can't find one other than the Premier. I don't like the grip. I like the Fenwick full cork type grip. 75-100 bucks would be good.
  13. I recently bought a Shock rod. I wanted a 6' MH casting rod. Berkley was one of very few who offer a 6 footer. I'm surprised how nice a rod it is. $50.00 at BP 40.00 at Walmart. I bought from BP.
  14. Nice job... Fit, Form, Function! I personally don't think leaving the rods and reels in a hot car is good for them. Just my opinion.
  15. My biggest disappointment was Seajunk Invisx.. I've been using P-Line CX and had great success. I'm also using Sufix 832 and Kast King briad with a CX leader. Both are doing well for me. Sufix Siege "camo" (color changes line qualities imo) on my crank bait rods has done well to.
  16. I use to walk the shores with my girl friend. Then we got married and all that suddenly stopped. I suppose I should have found another girl friend..... .. .. .
  17. It's been aligned and tows great!
  18. I've seen it on the Fishing Channel. It's really nice. I can't remenber the name.
  19. I'm in the same boat! Around here the lakes aren't that big. I fish exclusively out of my canoe. I get a kick out of watching guys with $40,000.00 Bass Boats trolling around with the motors up........ Just power washed it... Now the driveway..... Then I'm goin fishin!
  20. Anyone here ever heard of him or the rods he built?
  21. Great, thanks for letting me know. Max length I want is 6'6" for this rod.
  22. Whats the correlation between drag tension and line weigh?
  23. I've had very good success buying new reels on ebay. I've sold a couple too.
  24. No Duckett owners to the rescue?
