Beautiful Day...
Made plans to take one of my 2 younger kids fishing today, they both ended up having ball practice, so I took my father in law. Was a nice day, clear, slight wind. Started off in the "deep" part of the lake, about 18-22' deep. My little lowrance3x showed some fish, I swear this thing is never right...We trolled around for an hour or so, nothing, just hung up on some sticks. I decided to try out my new aqua vu camera. Dropped ot down, and what do you know, some sticks and a bass about 3 feet from the camera. Told pop to drop his line here, and bam, he got that little dink. We stayed in the deep for another couple of hours, nothing. I heard some good reports from last Sunday and Monday, they were literally filling the boats... I guess they caught them all. We did not get another bite...Oh well, have not been fishing with my father in law in years since he got rid of his boat about 10 years ago. Might head back out there next week and give it another shot.

Your "go To" Drop Shot Bait?
Finally going to be able to take my youngest girl and the jon boat out this Saturday... We are ready! Been too long. The bass here in NW Fla and LA (lower alabama for all you non southerners ) are still deep from the reports I have been hearing. Planning on drop shotting, I just started drop shot technique last year and it worked great. I was using small flukes and senkos. I have a bunch of finesse and trick worms I will probably use, maybe pick up some of those dream shots this week. What do you all have the best luck with, this time of year/conditions: water still below 50 and bass still deep? Need some recommendations, so I can go buy some more stuff I don't need.

Bama Sticks And Critters...
ha, yes, the older you get, it really does not matter. But it does make for better stories when you catch something.

Bama Sticks And Critters...
Stopped off at the little fishin' hole right off tombigbee river, it was cold and very windy yesterday. But, that's ok, figured a few casts, and make my way home. Throwing a purple charlie's worm, a few small bites, and about 50 yards out, I thought I saw a beaver, so I stand there and watch, two river otters playing and having a good ole time. I watched for what seems like 15 minutes. Then I got back to fishin'...Got a good strike, lost it, and my worm... So, rigging up a cutr worm, and see something flash in the water to my left by the drain and a pile of branches and junk the wind has blown in...then a head out of the branches, haha one of those little otters came over to check me out. He swam around the drain pipe for 5 or 10 minutes just checking me out. Then the other comes, he's out about 20' in front of me just going back and forth with his head up on a swivel, checking me out. I have never seen an otter in the wild before. They swam around, one of them was fishin' too he came up with a fish in his mouth. I ended up losing the cutr and put on a small craw, and landed a nice sized bowfin, I catch a lot of bowfin there, but occasionally when the water is higher and the weeds are alive I will catch a bass. Weeds are gone and water was REALLY low, after that, I headed home. Wish I had kept my phone in my pocket, fun story to tell the kids when I got home last night.

Costa Sunglasses Question
yes, but the rx warranty is a measly 2 years...I just went through it with them, my arms are out of whack pretty bad, I use this pair for fishing, yard work, and stuff like that. They are about 4 or 5 years old, but I am SOL on warranty. Went with wileyx last year. For what costa cost with an rx, they should replace them for life for free, but they don't.

Got my boy hooked up on a couple last summer down off cudjoe key...he got hooked up, but could not get them to the boat... I tried to warn him, but it was fun watching my 11 year old battle. He could handle 75lb tarpon with no problem, but the jewfish...funny to watch.

Taxes....
Tax time is always a time that get's me really moody. We work our *(#$ off, see what we pay uncle sam, and get the bone. In FL we have no state tax, but my company office is in AL, so I get dinged in the head from them every year. Can't win.

Roboworm ?
I keep mine in the original bags. I will get a box of those ziplock snack bags, put a couple of each worm in separate bags, and throw them in a worm file. Cuts down on lugging 20lbs of worms on the jon boat or bank fishing. It's worked out so far, but it sure is hard to leave all the stuff at home. I always feel like I left something I might need...lol

Lessons Learned From Others Mistakes
Back in high school, we would drive from south miami to the keys all the time, hang out, get ripped, chase girls...and whatever other mayhem... One time on the way back, we got to tavernier, the car was smoking from the front, smelled burnt...we pulled over, not knowing what was going on... It was my buddies pos buick regal, which he loved dearly...We made it home, regardless, next day, I went to his house, we were looking at his car wondering what happened, his much older brother came over, after a few minutes, and several colorful words in spanish to my friend, he gets out of the car, and says, "don't leave the parking brake on" That was 30+ years ago, I still never get tired of reminding him of that.

Gopro Editing Software
Long before I had a gopro, I used sony vegas...like version 4 or 5, that's a long time ago. With gopro software, I really don't need anything else. Tons of features for just about everyone. Plenty of tutorials on youtube to get those effects and transitions you look for. And for free...
