  1. Weather has been gnarly up here in NW FL. This past week has been rain, wind, and more rain. And the temp drop on occasion has not made it fisherman friendly. The creeks and rivers are way high right now. I went last weekend before the weather rolled in, perfect day to be fishing, but nothing was biting. I am going again this next week.
  2. I use 10-12lb mccoys xtra clear copoly on my lews lfs. I love it!
  3. Good for you. Great story to show your value. Keep it up.
  4. The ones that catch fish...
  5. Depends on how much weight you put into your "bass boat conversion" I have a 14' jon boat, I'm 215 pounds, my son weighs about a hundy, with 6 rods, battery , cooler, tackle bag, 15 # anchor, my 45 minn kota gets us where we want to go. No speed demon, but it can go all day and my battery is still over 1/2 charged. Transom mounted...
  6. you guys have too much fun!
  7. I fish lizards pretty often. I like the zooms, but sometimes splurge on the rage brand lizards. Junebug, green pumpkin, watermelon and black. 3-4/0 hook.
  8. Well, let me ask you guys...who would you have wanted to die, if you had to choose? Did you see the way Rick looked so scared and holding his eyes a little too wide open...maybe for effect? He should have manned up and not looked so much like a scared sissy. I guess he is easy to punk? Seemed like it to me.
  9. what a junk episode...90 minute special, with like 30+ minutes of commercials. Whoopee. They hyped it up good for us idiots. Just a note...did anyone notice Daryl has his own series coming out, does that mean he has a bunch more spare time or what? Oh well, GOT comes back on soon.
  10. spinnerbaits work for me all the time. I like white and white/char. I use different trailers...either a spinnerbait trailer or a 3" swimbait. Used willow blades, until recently...bought some colorado blades to try out.
  11. Red Snapper season 2015 Off Dauphin Island, AL Bull Red Pensacola, FL Tarpon 7 mile bridge 2014 Tarpon Bahia Honda 2014 Headed back to the Keys 1st week of June for some more silver king action!
  12. good luck with that. There are a ton of them. And then there are a ton of them you don't know about.
  13. was lucky enough to be there this past weekend til wed. We got snow up above gatlinburg. We went to cade's cove and had a great time having snowball fights and ninja kicking snowmen.
  14. From what I understand, the Battle II reels have a better bearing seal than the original battle. The originals were/are garbage so called "sealed bearings". Battle II or conflict? Dunno, I prefer my conflict over the battle. And I have a several battle reels.
  15. hit it up today. Threw off the bank this morning, zoom lizards and wigglers. Caught a spot and bream on the wigglers. Caught a spot on zoom lizard yesterday. Went out with friends later today, got a few dozen blue backs, caught 5 or 6 spots and one striper. All small, biggest maybe 1.5# Not a great day, but sure beats sitting in the cabin listening to the kids whine about no tv.
  16. enjoyed your reports. Be safe over there.
  17. I use a 7' mh/f for all 3, has been working great for me. One is a duckett, the other a *** black, keep a spinner on one and a chatterbait on the other, and just keep casting. I use the same rods for t-rigged soft plastics too. I use the fury 705cb for deep cranking and squarebills/lipless baits.
  18. i have several of the older models. I rinse them off with the hose. I have a couple 7500-8500 models that are 20 years old, still yankin' bull reds, and have never even taken the spool off. My newer spinfisher v models have been great so far, rinse and no problems. I can not say the same for the battle series. Have had a couple "leak" and the bearings freeze up, had to replace, they are not worth the time in my book. I replaced the bearings once, if it happens again, they are going in the trash. The only thing I do not like about the spinfisher v series, they are heavy. Bought a penn conflict a few years ago for yak fishing, it's been terrific and much lighter that the v. They are similar to the old graphite series years ago. Good luck.
  19. Ocean is on east coast... Go east coast, you will find mo' better stuff to do than on the west (gulf side).
  20. I lived on a similar lake in miami a long time ago. The drop off was about 25-30 yards out, it dropped off to about 20-30'. With no boat, we would either swim or paddle a surfboard with a bream or bluegill hooked to our line and drop it in a little past the dropoff. Worked for us.
  21. Well, total waste. Got there at right at dawn. Beautiful morning. Beat the banks around the entire lake with different color spinnerbaits. Got a single dink. Threw the squarebills and the new crush 75. Caught a bunch of muck. Even my daughter was bored and ready to go after an hour, and she is usually not like that. Tried some wacky rigs... Wind picked up about 7:30, stayed constant, picked up a little, making it hard, but I stayed for awhile, trying just about one of everything. Water was 64, and visibility was >1' Murky as can be, my little lowrance did not even mark any fish, it rarely does, it's more of a depth/temp tool really. Don't ever buy the elite 3x, they are garbage. Save your money, or just do without, I should have. We only stayed 3 hours, and headed home. I'm headed for the couch to get some shuteye, then maybe watch the race, then to Mom's, she making fried chicken, what a treat. Everyone loves "grandma'a fried chicken".
  22. Headed back up in the morning. Forecast says no rain and slight winds. Taking my youngest daughter(11), she loves to go, and has the patience of a saint...my son is another story. Going to try out some new squarebills/crankbaits. Looking forward to it! Will post some pics sometime tomorrow.
  23. I took your advice and got some off tw this week. Weather might make me wait another weekend or two before I can try them out! Looking forward to it, though.

Hit up the creek before noon, and the rain. 1 pike and 1 bass Caught the pike on a blackberry super speed craw on a swing jig, and the bass on a bama craw colored structure bug t-rigged. I did see a couple huge surface splashes before I left. Put on a keitech swimbait, but nothing.
  25. Dude, GET A JOB! Too many posts with your catches. j/k Nice fish.
