  1. Hey guys, I've noticed that some St. Croix elite spinning rod tips do not have wraps or epoxy that go onto the tip guide. I have also seen this on an avid model 6' UL. Is this common? Does anyone have a picture of their avid UL they could possibly post? More out of curiosity than anything. Here's a pic of the elite which also has this. Thanks!
  2. I've had a few rods arrive like this (not just SC). Especially ones with smaller guides that are harder to align. If you sent it in they will get you taken care of. Good choice on the avid X.
  3. The addermine is a killer DS rod has some power to it but not as much as 852S. The steez is a unique stick and can do it all as well.
  4. Steez AGS 76MML, Addermine (pretty powerful) or agree with BB on Brigand, 852S, MH Adrena…...I have owned and fished most of these and they are all great rods.
  5. Megabass makes a very quality rod in all their series. I personally have orochi XX and Valkyrie. I have also owned a lot of destroyers. As a whole package....balance, quality build, customer service, and great sensitivity I personally don't think you can top them. Sure nrx is more sensitive, yes Shimano and Daiwa have great rods in similar price points but when you buy a Megabass you are getting top quality. A least buy one and fish it!
  6. Expride or Megabass Orochi XX
  7. It's not the LT SS but a JDM procyon IM. Very similar in looks though.
  8. "Barbie" Reef runner
  9. OP... whatever you are smoking I want some. I'm kidding but in all seriousness.....Don't do it.
  10. boomerang, nail clipper, nippers from several brands, scissor, cutter on Kast King pliers all work great for me. Oh....and teeth
  11. That's actually TW's turn around time on orders right now.
  12. So far I love it. It loads up great when hooked up and is a favorite for sure. The adjustable section is a pretty cool feature. Not sure why there wasn't much chatter on these. Great series
  13. Had this happen a few times. One was a cumulus rod that was like new. Even when you note 'do not convey' they still do and a nice tube can snap. Insurance is a must and so is PVC. Fish it. Might be totally fine.
  14. My jerkbait setups. MB Valkyrie and Ronin.
  15. Go with 2500 on the 7 M. I went down to a 1000 for the light plus 7' but you should be fine with the 2500 size.
  16. I've fished several travel rods. Current two are Loomis Escape and Cabela's salt striker. Really like both. If I grabbed another it would be the new Fenwick HMG or Falcon Lowrider that was recently released. Loomis Escape can be found but they are discontinued. Loomis need to make another 3 piece stat!
  17. Not sure if this has been asked before but what's better Daiwa or Shimano?
  18. Evo, it happens. People make bad decisions I love MB and have certain model St. Croix's I enjoy too. Legend X is tempting but for spinning I can't get past the exposed threads and handle and the elite reel seat was my least favorite of any rod I have fished. Just was not comfortable in my hands. St. Croix sure had excellent build quality and CS. Really cant go wrong. Different strokes. Go get that new Xtreme!
  19. Just picked up my new combo. Bought a vanford reel and a cumulus cloud rod.
  20. I own both as well. All are great fishing sticks! In the sensitivity department....nrx will be your favorite. I prefer my GLX over Xtreme (first gen) for what it's worth. Tight lines
  21. Randy just leave the nrx alone or you will end up listing all the Croix's.....I promise
  22. OP, I would go for the 803S. 802S probably not enough power and 822 sounds like you ruled out. Out of the 3 mentioned I would still buy the 822 DSR since that is one of the best models. If you need it to handle worms and small jigs go with 803S for sure.
