  1. I was actually referring to them wading out the bait which was a stingray I have also seen someone who was stung and it looked awful! right through the back of his heel. I've had them graze my feet while walking but I think guys use these for shark bait.
  2. I'd rather do that then the guys I've seen swim or wade out a stingray for a little shark action.
  3. I've fished in New Smryna before and we caught large reds 35"-40" and a nice nurse shark. Sounds like you found a guide but I know a great option down there too if needed. Sharks are a blast. I went for sharks out of a boat in the 10,000 islands near Marco and you could throw out a fish and it wouldn't even hit bottom before sharks took it. Hooked and landed several. One in the 8-10 ft range and lost others too.
  4. I have seen a few stores completely restocked on guns and certain ammo. Just picked up a new shield plus and have been seeing some 9mm restocked as well. Still isn't cheap though ?
  5. I love that a company would put this on a rod blank. A little tribute to the creator of fish
  6. For sure Scott! I'll check em out and order a few. Favorite style of fishing hands down.
  7. Fish visions, pointers, x-rap, duo, twitch stick, and more. Nothing casts like a 110 or a 110 tour premium. The baits are a little brittle and yes the hooks take some getting use to but they cast like rockets and catch fish for sure. I use them in SW too.
  8. These are great options on the high end side NRX or GLX DSR Steez AGS 7' ML Steez AGS 7'-6" ML Kistler ML Zbone Daiwa BLX light plus St. Croix Elite ML Expride Light plus
  9. Sure...there are other ways to rig a DS rig to reduce twist but spin shot hooks are convenient and I have used them ever season and really like them .
  10. How do you like the reel seat on the P5 mcneal? Comfortable or hard to get use to it? Sweet looking set ups for sure!
  11. I was fishing SW with a cheap travel rod. Set the hook on a fish and the the sections came apart. While the fish was running I put the sections back but not good enough. Next run the rod exploded. Great reason to upgrade to a Loomis Escape
  12. Haven't handled the victory line but I have owned several of SC's top tier rods down to avid and I also have handled and fished E6X. They are nice light rods and fish well at their price point. I enjoy them.
  13. Cool! Miss this rod series. Great mid priced rods. Expride isn't too shabby either.
  14. I have a 6'-10" M F that I still fish often. EVA or Cork model? I have also owned XF models. Your rod would work for heavier drop shot rigs, grubs, small swim baits, small topwater, ned, and more.
  15. I have a sahara 1000 on my UL and its been great little reel. Looks good too.
  16. 4 lb smallmouth bass on a zebco when I was little 5 & 6 lb bass on a Shimano Stimula 6' M ($20 rod) 25 lb red fish on a Shimano teramar several large steelhead on a Gander advantage ($40)
  17. A lot of guys like the XF action. Especially for techniques they need to feel the bottom. I just don't fish that way often and M F covers a lot of base. Glad to see 842s made the new nrx line up.
  18. OP, expride for the $. IMX is nice but for the money the expride is very hard to beat. Good warranty, very sensitive, nice cork and good craftmanship.
  19. Some favorites for SW when I am on vacation. They catch fish everywhere! 4" jerbaits - Rapala XR10, Lucky Craft pointer 110, Mirrolure mirrodine 4" paddletail swimbaits 3" grubs w/ 1/4 oz. jighead silver or gold spoon in 1/4 - 1/2 oz Most bass lures work! Throw a couple in your box - poppers, walk the dog, lipless cranks work too! Make sure you run a good fluoro 20lb-30lb leader roughly 2-3 foot long.
  20. Yes it is. 842S is M F and very sensitive. I use my GLX 842S for topwater, smaller moving baits, grubs ect...852S is XF and powerful. More for wacky worms, smaller swim baits, smaller bottom contact stuff. If I could own one spinning rod it would be a Loomis 842S. Just a fun rod to fish and super versatile.
  21. Been fishing a 7' UL all spring. Lamiglas X11. Rod is a mod fast action in my book and its a blast for anything that bites. Great for cranks, inline spinners, small grubs. Its no NRX but man its a fun rod for a small river or creek. Daiwa Presso and SC premier are good ones too I am sure.
  22. I haven't read all the posts but go with some light (6lb,8lb, 10lb) Berkley Fireline in smoke. Love it on spinning gear. Super strong. Its take a trip or two for the line to loosen up but its a favorite in our house.
