  1. Thanks Spoonplugger, the guide will make the noise with no line at all. Just shaking the rod a little with no reel at all you can hear it very well.
  2. Megabass orochi XX ronin, Orochi XX flatside special or jerkabit special, G. Loomis 842C or S
  3. I have a few of these guides on current rods and have noticed the larger guides making a ticking / clicking noise when the rod is cast or also working a bait. Insert seems secure but maybe hitting the frame? Curious if anyone else has noticed this. Its typically the largest guide in the guide train. Thanks
  4. That's how I took it. I had the expride light + spinning rod and it had some extra power over your typical light action rod. Take a look at the Destroyer 110 special too.
  5. I'd send back. That would bug me on a new rod. Fishable? Sure but you'll end up wanting those guides rewrapped in the future at $15-$20 ea. TW will take care of you for sure.
  6. I prefer spinning for light baits. I just enjoy fishing a light spinning rod and fight you get over a baitcaster. Both work. Good choices below for light duty expride 6'10 ML and 7' Light G. Loomis 901S and 820S models St. Croix L and ML 7'
  7. and the cork is still the same. Helium is a nice stick but at $350 with slight changes.....
  8. What's wrong with an F? I use to receive these on papers I worked very hard on.
  9. casting - Destroyer 110 special spinning - Ronin, GLX 842S, Crucial jerkbait
  10. Jaybert, I run a 3000 stradic on my 842S GLX (newest version). Been fishing for 30+ yrs and this is one of my favorite setups. They go together very well and I personally love the handle on the GLX spinners.
  11. Thanks Dwight, been curious about these rods for a while so grabbed a zbone and helium in spinning and they are very nice. Also glad to hear a warranty story that went well. That was the other thing I was skeptical about. The xray blank is very very nice.
  12. How long as Kistler used NFC blanks? If helium changes is it just the blank or the whole look of the rod? Also curious if people have any issues with the eva locking nut.
  13. I have been addicted to jerkbait fishing for about 9 yrs now. My gear, freshwater, saltwater, and river fishing revolve around it. I love fishing mirrolure, Rapala, LC, Megabass, STX, Duo, you name it. Of all the jerkbaits the 110 and plus 1 are my favorite. Not just for action but also for how far they cast. Hooks I could take or leave. Pointer is also a great bait. They are fragile and lose paint like any other bait that is fished hard but where I fish....they work. Just caught a 25lb snook on an old storm twitch stick 2 weeks ago.
  14. for under or around $200 Fenwick Aetos or new Techna St. Croix Avid X or original Kistler Helium when they have a sale Megabass Orochi XX if you can find a second hand one or use a coupon Shimano Zodias G. Loomis revamped E6X I have owned, handled, or fished all of these except the techna and they are all really good rods with nice warranties. Good luck
  15. Can't go wrong with either. I fish mostly spinning but have owned LX and GLX and still have a couple GLX rods. Legend Extreme rods are great. Comes down to handle preference to me. NRX and Conquest are both great rods too with NRX being great for bottom contact. For what your fishing I would buy GLX or Megabass Destroyer. I prefer cork handles. Hope this helps
  16. Daiwa Tatula or St. Croix Mojo would be a great rod in that price range.
  17. I've bought a couple fake Loomis NRX rods from Stephen before. They fish ok...... Kidding aside I think you probably received a demo without the specs noted. Hookup tackle probably should have noted that but highly doubt its fake. Shoot them an email. They will take care of you.
  18. Addermine, GLX 842S, SC LXtreme M F, and on the lower end the Crucial jerkbait rod
  19. I'm with Shimano 1. Based on the green threads and the unfinished blank these rods will not fish properly. They don't look like they will catch fish......I've handled e6x and fished. They are nice rods for the $. Fished these from bass to steelhead.
  20. I had a spinning version. Versatile and a little bigger guides. Totally work for bass or other species.
  21. vision 110 vision 110 vision 110 vision 110
  22. Quality, versatility, and performance......Then your looking for a GLX MBR or Megabass Destroyer daemos.
  23. Fished and owned GLX, IMX, E6X, NRX, and conquest. The 842S in GLX is one of my favorites. Love the reel seat but I may have larger hands too. To me the imx is a great stick but I feel the sensitivity does not match GLX. Conquest handle is smaller than the GLX in diameter but is it worth the extra coin .....up to you.
  24. I have the spinnerbait special and the destroyer daemos. The daemos is a great spinnerbait rod.
  25. I have had great experiences with Pflueger spinning reels and awful with Abu Garcia. I even had a Abu Rep tell me not to buy a spinner (MGX) but stick with Pflueger after warranty problems. If you want a great spinning reel look at stradic or tatula too.
