Morning.  I have traditionally fly fished, but due to potentially buying a new property on a lake, I am interested in purchasing a new bass rod and was looking for some recommendations.

 

I have been looking at the G. Loomis rods and I am lacking knowledge on the differences in their rod series.  I am used to pricey rods from Orvis and Hardy,  so the price is not so relevant - quality and performance are.  I am searching for a rod that will match up well with a baitcaster reel and spinnerbait.  Specifically from the site, the E6X 812C SBR looked like a good match.  However, I am curious if any of their higher series match up well with spinnerbait, as I would be using this type of lure most frequently.  However, I would welcome extended versatility.  

 

I am not necessarily stuck on G. Loomis, but turned up as a high quality rod in my searches.  Price range somewhere between 300-1000.  Thanks much for the potential insight.

I would recommend the G Loomis 844 MBR if you want to go the e6x lineup for spinnerbaits.  It's also a great all purpose rod.    

If you want a great bass rod for many different uses I would recommend the 843c in the e6x or IMX-Pro depending on what kind of money you want to spend. That rod has the famous G Loomis MBR taper which is great for tons of different things.

i use the E6X MBR903C which is a 7'6 MH baitcasting rod and I love it for 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits. . 

If you are looking at the E6X and that price point, I would look elsewhere. IMHO Loomis shines when you go above that level.  The GLX MBR may be the most versatile rod for the $$$$.

First fish I caught on my Conquest 903C MBR was on a spinner bait. It is a very nice rod. I have used it for a handful of applications.

Not looking at any specific price point.  I am looking for best quality | performance | versatility irregardless to price.  Thanks for the recommendations.  

Quality, versatility, and performance......Then your looking for a GLX MBR or Megabass Destroyer daemos.

Thanks, I believe I am going to go with the "CNQ 843C MBR".  Any preference you like with the extra 6" on the "CNQ 903C MBR"?

I have the 783C GLX, 844C GLX and the 844C IMX.  The 783C GLX is one the most versatile rods I have.  There's pretty much nothing it can't handle.  I have used it for soft plastic, jigs, spinner baits, and jerk baits.

The conquest 842 and 843 are my absolute favorite rods and are available for less than msrp...

Conquest 843c, no doubt.

I just like a longer rod some of the time. Picks up line quicker which can be helpful for some applications. I will probably get a 843C in the future as I like to have options and am a gear junkie.

I love my nrx 893c

Bait casting bass rods over 7' it can be difficult making accurate target casts and cumbersome fishing from shore depending on what is behind you, something every a fly fisher knows. Boat fishing rods over 7' you have the same target accuracy issue, most bass anglers using a spinner bait prefer rods between 6'8" to 7'.

E6X series rods are entry level and not the higher end quality you find with NRX or Conquest with IMX and GLX being tournament quality rods IMO.

the 3 power rod will cast easier then a 4 power, the 4 power will control hooked bass and handle a wider range of lure weight.
