  1. Not a big fan of college football but I watched the last 10 minutes of the Michigan/Michigan State game and it looked like Michigan was gonna pull it off at the end.
  2. The name "overflow tank" is the term I use for it because I'm old and remember a time when radiators had caps so that is the term I've used in the past. This car doesn't have a radiator cap. The tank is the only place to add coolant. But you are right about the term. Overflow tanks were used for catching excess coolant. The proper term I should have used is coolant reservoir.
  3. Only advice I got for you is take me with you. You're gonna need a translator and I speed fluent Floridian. Also I'm small so I fit in any overhead luggage. Good luck and if you ever miss lousy weather feel free to come back.

I'd put the Husky Jerks on the top of that list. Around here you can't beat the ones with the metallic colored sides on a cloudy day. Green back and gold/copper side is a killer. Best thing about them is if you lose one to a musky/pike/large pickerel/poor knot tying/tree fish/large rock you aren't out $25.
  5. Dang those are hawgs!
  6. First time I was going to fish Cayuga Lake in upstate NY in the fall I stopped off at a local B&T shop and the owner recommended orange & brown colored baits. I had never thought about those colors before. Tried it and caught many big largemouths on spinnerbaits and crankbaits in those colors.
  7. When I was a teenager I owned a 1970 Mustang Coupe with a 351 Windsor motor. I loved that car and use to wax and polish it every week. Now if I gotta change the oil in my car its a pain and I only do that once every 6 months. I know what your talking about when you say your old. I'm there too.
  8. Great vid. Topwater smallmouths are always fun. You can't beat them. Nice musky too. They always freak me out when I catch them cause I know they can toss a hook back at ya. Spending time on the Susky is its own type of therapy.
  9. That's ok. He got a loaner......
  10. Found out the "leak" isn't actually a leak. The coolant was coming from the overflow tank. The way it came out of the tank, down the tube and hit the front bumper and ran from there was what was confusing me. Didn't find that out till I put it up on ramps. Found out from a friend at work that he had a similar situation with the coolant rushing back into the overflow tank. Still gonna do the flush this weekend and watch it. I did check the hoses, fan and radiator. All are fine. Not sure if it has a jiggle valve.
  11. Around here where most lakes are abundant with perch I tend to use a Rapala Husky Jerk with green back and copper or gold colored sides. The cadence of the lure depends on the water temp. Now water temps are in the 60's and fish are feeding for winter so it would be a quicker retrieve. When the water temps drop below 60 then I slow the retrieve and pay more attention to the pauses. When the water temp is above 60 the retrieve might be twitch, twitch, pause, when the water temp is below 60 it might be twitch, paaaaaaaause, twitch, paaaaaaaause.
  12. Well the leak stopped and hasn't come back. Not sure what to make of it but I'm gonna postpone the dealership appointment and flush the coolant on the weekend. I flushed it last year at this time and the coolant is looking darker than normal. The radiator is fine. I didn't hit anything. The coolant is at a normal level and I haven't overheated since those first 2 times on Monday. I've got heat when I turn on the heater. Its still a mystery to me.
  13. Here in PA they have closed some state parks because of the amount of geese droppings in the water making it hazardous to swim in. I agree we need better management but because they migrate out of our country I think the problem isn't the state laws or even US laws but laws agreed upon between the US and Canada. I know of a landowner who has trained his german shepard to chase them off but even he says the come right back in a short time.
  14. Update on the situation. Well I haven't started the engine today but did notice that it is leaking pretty good from somewhere. Its too close to work time to put it up on ramps. Tomorrow I'll put it up and look underneath to hopefully see where its leaking from.
  15. I knew someone would knock Fords.
  16. Just yesterday I had a problem with my 2014 Ford Focus. I was driving to work and it started to overheat. I pulled over, turned off the engine, waited 5 minutes and started up again and got 2 miles before it started to overheat again. I pulled over, popped the hood and saw I had no coolant in the overflow tank. Also I saw some coolant on the engine block. I unscrewed the lid and all of the coolant rushed back into the overflow tank. After that it hasn't overheated but when I got to work I noticed the overflow tank was low again and unscrewed the lid and the coolant flowed back into the tank again. I topped the tank off before heading home tonight so I did lose some coolant. I've never had that happen on any of my cars before. I'm hoping its just a thermostat but I'm not sure. I have an appointment at the dealership Friday. Any idea what is happening???
  17. Bigfeets!!!
  18. Congrats on the PB and try the old "put your wet phone in a container of rice" trick. It might work.....hopefully.
  19. I'll be honest and tell ya that organization is not my strong suit. I started out taking the soft plastics out of the bags and putting them in plano containers but then some of the stuff either stuck to the inside, melted badly or got bent. Back in the days, every bait company used massive amounts of salt on their baits and let me tell you that salt gets everywhere. Now I use larger containers and keep the plastics in the original bags (this also allows me to know what color bait I'm using instead of just guessing). I wish I could go back in time and tell bait companies that the salt on the outside of there baits gets washed off quickly and they don't need to dump so much in the pack. It would also save the carpets in my first apartment.

I tend to modify the tips by cutting them into 4 separate "tails" to add a little action if I'm wacky-rigging them.
  21. Tubes are always a good option when fishing for smallmouths in a river.
  22. Its understandable to want an explanation and to not just blindly follow. Its an admirable trait and one seen less and less these days.
  23. Every state now is fearful of invasive species, even if its a species found in other lakes in that state. Moving a gill from a lake that is abundant with them to a lake that may never have had them is a big concern. Especially in such a large and diverse state as California where you can go from a mountainous region to an arid desert and still be in the same state. A species such as a sunfish may be put into an area where it never was before and prey upon native species. I believe Colorado is having this problem with pike currently. The law is basically to prevent this from happening or at the least, to mitigate it.
  24. The state wildlife officers trap nuisance bears from the poconos and release them down where I live in the mountains. Lots of places for them bears to roam but also plenty of garbage for them to eat around town. Most of my neighbors are worried about stray dogs, possums, skunks and such but I tell them not to worry about them. Worry about the bigger critters like coyotes and bears. I tell my neighbors not to put trash out the night before pick up day. Put it out in the morning instead. And always put it in heavy metal cans with tight lids. Most don't listen which is why we get the critters coming into town.
  25. Ya ever try to cast a putter??? It's an ugly sight!
