Anyone fishing during the eclipse?
Funny thing happened this morning. I woke up and my underwear was on backwards. Not sure how it happened or when. Pretty sure they were on the right way yesterday. I had to replace them anyway so it worked out. BTW, I don't think the eclipse had anything to do with it but I can't be 100% sure. One question. Is there gonna be another eclipse tomorrow or is it weekly like my subscription to Life magazine?

Anyone fishing during the eclipse?
Haven't heard about it either. Did they mention it on tv? Does anybody else know about it? I knew I should have wore clean underwear today. Oh well.....

How did you earn money as a kid to buy fishing stuff
Let me see....well, I worked on a farm, worked in a Bonanza Steakhouse, worked for a local auto mechanic, worked for my uncle's business digging up septic tanks (and no, I didn't get the easy job of sitting on the backhoe) but my favorite "job", if you can even call it that, was catching hellgrammites and crawfish and selling them to the old guys who fished the banks of the river. There was always a bunch of us kids doing that. Local kids, some I knew, some I didn't. That was the highest paying job for us kids in mid summer. We'd spend the days catching bait and selling it and the nights fishing with the lures we bought with our money. Now kids don't do that anymore. Sad to see that cause it was fun and taught me the value of a dollar.

Solar Eclipse party
I was thinking of leaving PA to travel to FL to view the eclipse but then remembered we have the sun here too. Just for less months than FL.

Garbage Find
I know people who would love that reel. Not collectors, but fishermen. I use to work with a guy who every year would go to Pulaski, NY to fish for salmon. He only used Mitchell reels. The older ones. He swears by there toughness. Good find.

What Is Your Strangest, Unintended Catch
Fishing in Philly? Surprised you didn't hook a hobo.

First time fishing story.
My first memory was when I was about 8 or 9. Me and my brother and friends from the neighborhood would walk down to the end of town to a little pond. We caught tons of sunfish but the bass in that pond wouldn't bite. You could see them swim around but no matter how hard I tried with nightcrawlers, I couldn't catch one. I think not catching those bass is really what kept me fishing. I would spend hours stalking those fish from the high bank around the pond. I used all sorts of live bait. Crickets, worms, crawfish, nothing worked. But I kept coming back to try.

Your tips and tricks
Always wear clean underwear. Never dance when drunk, you will never dance as good as you think you do. Stop and smell the roses unless they are along a busy highway. If you have a friend who can't keep a secret, don't tell him where the bodies are buried. Never pay a bill until the 3rd final notice. Don't bet on the Jets this year. Shoes bought at a gas station are probably not the best quality.

Problem viewing photos
Am I the only one having problems viewing photos on the forum? All I'm getting on some (not all photos) is the name of the file and a small black box with an x in it. It even happened with the photo I posted.

The Bass Boats Did It
Shoulda pointed to the boat and said "Worlds most expensive lawn mover." Those goofs were probably just jealous and wished they had a sweet ride like yours.

Two awesome things about Tacklewarehouse orders!
- Your Tungsten Weight Inventory?
I just started buying tungsten. I've got plenty of lead bullet weights to last for years but so far only have 6 3/8oz and 2 1/2oz tungsten. I'll probably buy more 1/2 or over tungsten just because the size is more compact.- 15 years of fun
- Cayuga lake
After watching a video of the BASS pros fishing Cayuga last year I can agree with you RichF. But it also has to do with pike and pickerel being the apex predators of the lake. Especially in the weedy areas. I know that the lake I fish here in PA has pickerel and they are far more aggressive than the bass. I've even had the same pickerel bite on my lure 3 x's in the same cast. That's why I'm encouraging my friends who fish there to take out as many legal size pickerel as they can. Just to cull the herd.- Cayuga lake
If you are fishing the northern end near Union Springs weeds and rocks are the main habitat. Jigs, big worms and senkos in the weeds work. In the mornings, frogs over matted vegetation gets bites but mostly from pike. Also I always really liked heading north to the railroad tracks. Jerkbaits and topwaters parallel to the riprap bank is a great smallie pattern. If you do a google earth search you can find some coves along the eastern side of the lake along with boat docks. Those hold plenty of largemouths. One final little tip, try going under the railroad tracks into the northern most part of Cayuga. Plenty of smallmouths to be had there.- Bass Pro buying Legend Boats
My guess is its gonna have to happen very, very soon. I've lived through a similar thing where I work. Company I worked for insisted that if you aren't acquiring other companies, you are losing ground. Shortly after the buying spree ended, the purge began. They centralized manufacturing into just a few factories and shut down the rest. That's what they will probably do here.- The Road To The Super Bowl 2018
Yea but Jerry Jones has a lot of pull with Goodell. But then again, I thought that about Robert Kraft. Been wrong before.- Lure Body Color Wraps
Looks like something I would like for some of my cranks and jerkbaits. Especially since every time I go to the local bait&tackle they are sold out of perch colored jerkbaits.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
Sweet hawg!- Just lastnight
I miss those days when I was woken by a morning dove in the tree behind my place. Now its just cars with no exhaust pipes and tractor trailers with jake brakes. Not to mention the neighbors arguing about who did what to who. - Your Tungsten Weight Inventory?
