  1. Nice hawgs. I had a situation similar to yours. Hooked and broke off a bass then hooked the same bass with the lure in its mouth. I guess if you fish long enough everything happens.
  2. Go Granny, Go. Hope I'm as awnry when I get there.
  3. The answer is in the sentence. Orange County, NY. Some of the most repressive gun laws in the nation. I have a sister in NY state who's husband was a undersheriff of the county she lives in and she, after he passed away, couldn't get a CC permit. Sad but true.
  4. One cold, rainy May night a friend and I decided to go fishing on his boat. He told me to bring a rain coat cause we'd be out till dawn. Remembered everything but the rain coat. Spent 7 hours wearing a garbage bag like a poncho.

Definitely the Classic. Pro anglers need big time sponsorships to keep fishing. You need big money to travel, not only for tournaments but also to practice on these lakes. Also with a $10,000 entry fee, that needs to be covered. AOY doesn't bring the big sponsors like the Classic.
  6. Anybody else wanna punch the guy that keeps saying eh, eh, eh? Would have loved to see that guy get gored. As for the other doffus, you can tell he's a couple fries short of a happy meal cause he listened to the other clown. At some point, someone should have called a game warden or at the very least the nearest Popeye's to let them know what the dish washer is doing on his lunch break. Its a shame he dropped his helmet. But luckily, like his underwear, he probably has his name written on the inside.
  7. Highs yesterday in high 50's to low 60's. Lows in the high 40's. Start looking shallow. If you can't get bites go deeper. I know some of the weeds have started dying off. They will hold bass until they are all gone. I like to use jerkbaits this time of year and vary the cadence of the retrieve. I throw the bait parallel to the weed line. Perch colors, green/gold work for me.
  8. Agreed. Colts made a bad move for a guy that may back up Tolzien. Especially considering they probably could have gotten him or another QB like him after the cut.
  9. Colts Jim Irsay said he doesn't have a timeline on Andrew Luck's return. Looks like it might be farther off than most expected.
  10. My paradise
  11. Mr. Pike really likes to bend up spinner baits. That's why I only use Terminator Titanium spinner baits. Anything less is gonna look like a bread tie after he's done with it.
  12. I hope you just sat there eating his pizza wondering if the guy is angered by why you haven't shown up yet.
  13. Nice to see companies still appreciate good employees and quality work. Congrats Michael.
  14. That's like having a chain saw and another chain saw where the handle should be. Makes you wonder how it survived that long?
  15. I remember sitting in the break room where I worked at the time talking with my coworkers when my boss came over and sat down with us. The topic came around to fishing and boats and my boss got real quiet. Someone spoke up and said "Tell'em what happened to you Mike". My boss said he had just bought a brand new $15,000 waterski boat and trailered it to the lake with his wife and brother. He lowered his head when he told me that as he launched the boat he didn't know it would float that far off the trailer or that it even had a drain plug. All the 3 of them could do is watch as the boat sank. When he made it to a phone he called a tow company and asked if they could tow a boat out of the water. He said all he heard on the other end was laughter and a "no".
  16. Would a 40 yr old QB count? Mother nature is undefeated. I'm bias. I'm a steelers fan and like what they have done in the offseason. Having said that, Ben is known for getting beaten up during the regular season and that affecting his playoff performance. I would bet the steelers get into the playoffs but getting to the SB is something different. As for my predictions for the super bowl its Dallas and Oakland. I think both teams have a core roster that is the strongest in their conference.
  17. Loop knot. You can make it small enough as to not get caught in the hooks.
  18. I got a few more... Those who smelt it, dealt it. I plopped a whopper. If it ain't fixed, we'll break it. (Also the name of my favorite vasectomy clinic) My body has a mind of its own. Take my advice, nobody is using it. I pretend to water my fake plants. Narcissists anonymous. As usual, payment on use or I will unleash my lawyer and his pet shark.
  19. I'm with you in hoping this fall will be better that the summer. Can't wait till the jerkbait bite starts up. That is when the fun begins.
  20. ^^^This. Look for clearer water. Usually where a stream or river enters. Also there are gonna be areas that hold bass no matter what. Rocks are always a good place to start. A dams rock wall, isolated humps, lay down logs and, of course, lily pads are all a good start. As far as lures, let the conditions tell you what to throw. If temps are warm. slow down. If its cooling down. speed up.
  21. Its been tough this year. The amount of rain this summer has really made it difficult to not only get out but to find clear water. Thankfully, I don't fish tournaments cause that would make me crazy. Just remember, there is always next year (at least that is what Jets fans tell themselves).
  22. I would try night-time fishing. In the dead of summer bass feed at night. Water temps cool slightly and fewer boats on the water also.
  23. Hook, line and stinkers. The Good, the Bad and the Fugly. Pics or it didn't happen. You wine some, you booze some. Ocho Stinko. Victoria's Secret. Deep Threat. Tri-polar. The Pace-makers (for the senior league). Hairy Backs Anonymous. The Basstafarians. Boom Shaka Laka. Let me know if you use any of these cause they are all trademarked and you will have to pay me a zillion dollars. (No checks)
  24. The reviews on TW weren't very positive. Most mentioned broken line/ lost lures as the reason for the complaint. But I do see how the diameter would affect that.
