@NorcalBassin I agree about some doctors preferring to operate over rehab. My doctor tends to do that more than he should. That is why a second opinion is always needed when surgery is recommended.

Be careful. Some states have laws regarding the trapping of crawfish. I believe in PA your limit is 50 crawfish and if you keep them and not use them as bait in the water that they are taken from, you must remove the heads immediately. Some states may require that you put a tag with your name on it on the trap. Check your state laws.

Looking at the Daiwa SS SV 103 JDM on the TW website and man is it crazy light at 5.3 oz. With the right rod you could cast that thing all day. I'm surprised by the price. Thought it would be more in the $300 range.

I really should keep perch. We have so many lakes in my area that have an over abundance of perch that the Fish & Boat Commish requested a draw-down on one lake during the spawn to reduce the numbers of them.

I've suffered with lower back pain for the last 6 years. Hurt it at work. Did the rehab and exercises they taught me. Still its tough. It has taken a toll on my hobbies. Even forces me to fish less than I want to. Wouldn't wish back problems on my worst enemy.

The goal for me is to get the fish to the boat. I've lost a lot of fish letting them fight. They jump and the hook comes flying back at me. I ski them to the boat when ever possible. Of course, I'm talking about largemouths. You can't do that with a river smallmouth. They are too strong for that.

I've heard Pam cooking spray will stop them from freezing. Not sure if it works but at least you'll be ready for lunch.
