I'm always amazed at the prices of some of those cars. I remember in the late 70's and early 80's when you could get a hemi powered car for under 5 grand. If only I knew then what I know now.

I have a Cabela's and a BPS within an hour's drive of me. I'm still waiting to see what they do with the Cabela's. I do check stuff out and occasionally they have a good deal but I don't go as much as I use to.

^^^^This. Inline spinners in shallow creeks and rivers can be deadly. I like Mepps and Rooster tails. Usually 1/4 ounce. In clear water I mostly use green/ brown. Also I like Thomas lures spoons and spinners. Made in PA.

@Daniel Bryan you don't need a trout stamp on Ontelaunee. There aren't any trout in that lake. I know, I've fished it and ice fished it. You don't need a trout stamp for ice fishing anywhere if you are not keeping trout. Its the same with regular (not ice) fishing. The only difference may be trout streams that are special regulation streams such as heritage streams and fly-fishing only streams. Those I believe you do need to have a trout stamp. Just a note. We don't have saltwater licenses in PA cause we are landlocked. What you might be thinking about is the Lake Erie permit for salmon. And the multi-year licenses are great. I bought a 5 year license the first year they offered it. Beats having to go to Wallyworld every year.

Its common in the NFL to sign players in season that know a particular teams offense/defense and then cut them after the season. Wait and see. Harrison will be cut at the end of this season. Don't think Bill Belichick doesn't think about things like this. He wouldn't be the coach he is if he didn't.

IMO, only upside to the Steelers loss in the playoffs is that the Patriots signed James Harrison for no good reason. He'll be cut at the end of the season.

What is worrying many in my area is the ice jams along the river. After the cold, then the warmer temps with rain and now the freezing again things are getting scary.

Kalin's are my favorite grubs for trailers on my spinnerbaits and rigged with a Kalin's darter head. I really like the range of sizes, 3, 4,or 5 inch. Lets you tailor the bait to the basses preference.

^^^ What he said. I'm sure water temps have something to do with this as well. Because bass are cold blooded colder water affects their feeding. The colder the water the less food bass need because they are less active.

I've had no luck with them either. Then again, square bills don't really fit in to the lake I fish at. Mostly weed choked with deep rocks. I throw 8-10 ft divers mostly. The few times I have thrown KVD 1.5s I've blanked.

I didn't know there were 10 species of black bass. I've caught only 2, largemouth and smallmouth. I know of spots and coosa. Are you considering Florida-strain as a separate species?

This thread makes me think about something. What happened to Quantum reels? I owned 2 accurists that were great. I still have one. Quality reels. Did Diawa and Shimano just outpace them or has Quantum's quality gone downhill in just 4 or 5 years? Quantum just doesn't seem to be as popular lately.

At least you got out to fish. All the water in my area has a strange covering on it that I just can't figure out how to get through. I've called NASA about it and they tell me to stop calling them or they will have me arrested. Tomorrow I might try dynamite or, since dynamite is expensive and hard to come by these days, I might try a firecracker. Anyway, I'd gladly trade places with you. I know NASA has a machine that will allow us to do just that but I can't call them about borrowing it because of the reason mentioned above. Anyway, enjoy the time spent.
