It's almost 8pm  and -8. Figured a new thread was fitting for the arctic blast we're getting and to make the southern boys appreciate their 40 plus temps their getting right now!

  • Snow is expected to overspread northern Michigan after midnight...and continue into Friday morning while transitioning to lake effect snow showers. Locally heavy snow squalls Friday afternoon/evening

  • Oh - but you'd be wrong ~   But we have 'an agreement' - I don't bother them in January and they leave me be in June. Seems to work out for both parties.  A-Jay

Was -2* this morning. Warmed up to  a balmy 7* by afternoon.

Its 74 degrees with 87% humidity where I am at this moment. We are having a very warm winter for the past 5 years in a row now. Wish it was a little colder since I enjoy doing long distance running this time of year(40-60 degrees is my favorite temperature for long distance running). It still beats having to deal with the snow and using a shovel to remove the snow from the driveway.

It got to a balmy 7 degrees today.  Yesterday it never got above zero.  The night before last it got down to -17.  The projected high on Saturday, Dec 30 is -7.  I don't particularly enjoy these arctic blasts but its better than 100 degrees and jungle-like humidity in July.

Pushing 70 degrees this weekend and we still haven't had any measurable snow this year. Hammered by a 100 year winter last year and we've pretty much been stuck in fall mode since October. Weird "winter" so far but I imagine January will start making up for it.

Not as bad as you northern guys, but this weekend is going to be rough.

We usually have a couple of weeks of winter and it's generally right around now.

Temperature is currently 18* with a windchill ~ 4*. I think we might make it above

freezing later today, but a stronger cold front arrives for New Year's Eve and a chance

of snow.

Well.....my turn...it's 19 and clear and supposed to get in the thirty's today.  Going to test the waters here in about an hour or so.  Not real eager to "break ice" as they say up north I guess.  But I am eager to try some new jerk baits!!

-8 in Central NH, with wind chill of -25 expected by noon.

A good day to organize the Plano's

-3 on my way in to work this morning.

Currently 12 outside now. It's not too bad as long as you have layers on, but that wind cuts like a cold knife.

Currently 33 here with a high close to 70 today. My boy wanted to fish yesterday but was busy so as soon as he wakes and eats we are going bank beating today.

It's 6 degrees here in eastern MA. I live on the ocean and the shoreline is frozen. I'm heading to the gun club.

It's 1° here.  Almost in sub zeros!

My big pup got cold paw the other night when we went for his ? walk. Like yours he was bread for the cold so it has to be really cold for him to get it. The 3 lititle dogs always get it when we let them out if it's colder than 15 or so.

On a side note a while back I was reading about the history of my big pup's breed (Great Pyrenees) and come to find out besides guarding livestock they were also used to pull sleds. When he sees a critter on our walks it takes all I have sometimes to keep him at bay. He's not going to win any speed races, but I thought about buying a harness and seeing if he'd enjoy pulling my son around on his sled.

Seems to work out for both parties.

Hmm...That would require some mighty fine whisky to get me out in one of those

tents.
