  1. Ohhhh jarts will get you a life sentence with no chance at parole. Not to mention the daily visits with a counselor to discuss your anger issues and restrictions on what you can watch on tv.
  2. Just don't start a pillow fight or they'll throw you in jail.
  3. The wall of plastics is amazing. The owner makes his own soft plastic lures like senkos and tubes and also his own jigs.
  4. I've got a good selection of Rapala Husky Jerks, Rapala Originals, Smithwick Rogues and Rebel Minnows. All work for me pretty good but the Husky Jerks are my go to jerkbaits.
  5. Speaking of Wacky Worm, their big sale is Feb 24 to March 11. 15% off the entire store and 50% off select items. Got to stop by and check it out.
  6. I hot-glued Velcro straps to my vest so I could temporarily put a rod and reel there while I'm tying a lure on my line. Its a good idea if you wade a lot like I do in summer. I never mastered tucking the rod and reel under my arm while tying a new lure on.
  7. Wow that is one sharp bow. Sounds like a great deal.
  8. Love the color on that smallie.
  9. That is the real problem with getting very warm temps this time of year. Most of the time the weather comes from the south with rain. That combined with melting snow brings the rivers up and causes flooding in low-lying areas. Stay safe out there.
  10. He says they are delicious and he doesn't care how much they cost. He just wants more. So get out there and buy more expensive baits.
  11. Setting my DVR now. Can't wait to see it.
  12. This weeks episode was a rerun of one of the shows from Alpena Michigan. At least it was from my cable company.
  13. I think that robot dog is creepy. Gives he the heebeegeebees. If I saw that thing crawling towards me I'd shoot it.
  14. Not what it once was. Now that BPS took over Cabela's there aren't many real deals. Also it use to be more of an outdoor expo kind of event, now not so much.
  15. Loved the boundary waters episode in a canoe. Great show.
  16. I love Sunny. That is one of the best (non-fishing) shows on tv.
  17. @N Florida Mike Go to youtube, play the video you want, click on share. In the box that comes up will be a highlighted address. Right click on the addy and select copy in the drop down box. Then come here and right click and select paste. Hope that helps.
  18. @RickB its all about water temp and river levels. If you can pick days just a week ahead then look for days when the daily high temps are going to be in the 60's or higher and the daily low temps are going to be in the 40's. There usually is a stretch of good weather, maybe just 3 or 4 days, when the weather gets nice in late March but April is a better pick in my opinion. Also check out the USGS website and find the nearest river gauge to where you are going to fish. If you see the river levels are projected to be relatively stable or, at the very least, no going to rise rapidly then that is a good time to fish because the river won't be as muddy. You can still fish in muddy water, it just isn't as good. As far as baits what I use mostly are largemouth bass size spinnerbaits with gold colored Colorado blades and chartreuse or fire tiger colored skirts, big swimbaits like Strike King Shadalicious 4.5 inch, Keitech Swing Impact Fat 4.3 to 4.8 on a 1/4 oz. jig head, and Cotton Cordell Big O Squarebill crankbait in 3 inch. Two things you should notice about my selections is all of them are big baits and all make a lot of vibration in the water. Don't think smallmouths at this time of year won't hit big baits. They are feeding heavily for the spawn and will attack a big bait. I've even used baits used for redfish with a lot of success. Also vibration is important because you won't be fishing clean water at this time of year. Warm weather means snow melt and that combined with spring rains means stained to muddy water. Also bring along some tubes and grubs in dark colors and 1/4 jig heads. Parts of the Susky around Duncannon are rocky and dropping a tube around these rocks is a great way to pick up big smallies. Good luck with your trip and have fun.
  19. The only beaver lodge I've fished was at a local lake and the group that stocked the lake with trout would routinely try to trap or shoot the beavers that lived there. I consistently caught bass around that lodge. Mostly tossing a small craw texas rigged.
  20. I got a gift card burning a hole in my wallet. Might stop by Saturday and get some of the rapala shadow raps that are discounted.
  21. Roy Hawk was really impressive in his 1st BASS Elite tourney. You know his nerves had to be going on the last day being so close to a win.
  22. I'm more of a watermelon colored crank bait man myself. Occasionally I throw a cucumber colored jig or a plastic worm in gourd color. Anybody else getting hungry?
  23. Good one. Gave me a good chuckle.
  24. Around here we get ruts in the road where the ice is uncovered to reveal potholes. We technically only have two seasons here in Pa. Winter and road construction and I don't know which is worse.
