  1. Just take time off and take it easy. Life will be there when you're healthy again. And look on the bright side, at least you probably won't get sick for at least another year. Can't tell you the last time I've gotten the flu or even a cold.
  2. @Megastink have you looked into Chambers Lake/Hibernia County park in Chester County. Not sure if its too far for you but from what I've read they have a high catch rate for smallies. Its TM's only and has fishing piers and shore access. Never fished it myself but read good things.
  3. Reinventing the wheel. Its still a wheel.
  4. I tend to agree with this. They must have given you a quote for a different type of shipping.
  5. With all the warm temps we have been having lately I'm surprised that we still have a slim layer of ice on most of the lakes.
  6. @Bent you made my day with that one....
  7. Just found your post. Ice out is a tough thing to call this early but it looks like we might have a early spring. Most of the lakes now have just a thin layer of ice on them so I would reasonably say that April shouldn't be a problem as far as having a clear lake. Good luck with the trip.
  8. In the summer its mostly on the weekends and with my bad back I may only go out for 2-3 hours. In the spring I hit the river any time I can. Fall I have to make time to fish.
  9. Is the ice off cause I know up here we still got it?
  10. Way to wrangle that hawg.
  11. If you're running a windows os, try using paint.net. You can easily resize pics. I've got to do it with almost all of mine.
  12. Stopped by the local Walmart and found that they started moving some of the fishing stuff into the clearance section. Picked up 2 packs of Arkie weedless standup heads for $2 a pack. Mostly use them for twin-tailed grubs around rocks.
  13. I like the Gammy 1/0 finesse w.g. weedless hooks.
  14. I have to agree. Also I think its crazy when I see a 1/2 oz SK KVD "Finesse" Spinner bait. They are just using the term because its popular. Not because it applies to the bait. Nothing about a 1/2 oz spinner bait screams finesse to me.
  15. Try the SK 4" Rage Menace. They are a perfect size for 1/4 oz swim jigs and the tail gives a great swimming action to them. For more action you can cut a V in the tail where the pinchers meets the body. Gives it a little more movement in the bait.
  16. Picked up a few things at Wacky Worms big sale. Swim jig.... Some drop shot weights... Swimbait heads and wacky hooks and....... I finally decided to give the ned rig a try this year. I know I've said in the past that I'm not gonna do it but after hearing all the stories and seeing all the fish caught I figured why not. Its one more thing I can say "Blah" to.
  17. Oddly enough, its a 6 inch worm. I've probably caught more bass on a worm run over shallow grass and pads than any other bait. Its the best lure on hot summer mornings. Only problem is the pickerel like it too.
  18. You may not need a lot money to fight it. I sued my former landlord in magisterial court for not returning my security deposit. According to the laws in my state I was entitled to any money it took to sue him plus double my security deposit back because he didn't give me my deposit back within 60 days. It cost me $175 to send registered letters, have a process server serve him with papers and file for a suit, which when I won the landlord had to pay me back. All of the information I needed was found on the internet.
  19. Might be a scam but even if it is real the owner of the other land cannot block or stop you from accessing your land. I had somewhat of a similar problem with an apartment I lived in. The owner of the property next to it was a auto repair garage and I had to access his property to get to my apartment in the back of the building. He called the cops to report me as a trespasser and the cop read him the actual law as it pertained to access. Research it online and you will come up with the same law. Many organizations will help people with free legal advice such as local senior citizen organizations, even state representatives offices can help. Contact local newspapers and tv stations to inform them of this and see if they will do a story on it. Just don't give in. Bullies like this have learned over years how to intimidate people and have probably gotten away with it before. Stop them in their tracks and they will learn that not every one will roll over for them.
  20. We are still chomping at the bit on this side of the state. Most of the lakes still got a thin covering of ice but it won't be long before happy time is upon us. Until then there is always MLF.
  21. We had Tuesday and Wednesday in the high 60's and low 70's here in PA. Drove me nuts having temps like that and not being able to go fishing. Now we are back to 30's and rainy. Spring better happen soon before I go crazy.
  22. You beat me to it. This little piece of advice will allow you to learn without having to spend a lot of time and money dealing with bad backlashes and let you concentrate on learning to cast properly and thumbing the spool when needed.

I have both the "R" type and the closed loop type and in my early days of fishing, before I could ty a good knot, the closed loop kept the knot from moving very much. Now it doesn't really matter that much. I'm more concerned with blades and skirts.
  24. Now we all know the definition of stupidity. Right there it is in pictures.
