  1. Power Ball and Mega Millions is worth over 700 million combined. Who is playing and if you won what would you do with the money? I put $10 buck in on the PB and know I would never win but if I did I'd share it with my family and travel the country fishing the legendary lakes like Toho, Toledo Bend, and Erie. Spend spring, summer and fall in the north and winter in the south.
  2. Hey @Oregon Native don't worry about your score. Look how long it took Tiger to get back in the groove.

Had mine done after a bad bout of diverticulitis. They found 2 polyps. They removed them and did a biopsy and they came back negative for cancer. Tough 2 weeks of my life but glad it happened. Glad everything is fine Sam. You are right. Getting it done ain't nothing compared to the consequences if you don't. Talk to your doc. Be safe, not sorry.
  4. Good deals on Rapala Husky Jerks at Cabela's website today and tomorrow. Can't.....must......resist.....urge.......hahaha
  5. That's beyond a 2fer. Anybody can catch 2 bass at one time but you caught 2 different creatures.

Congrats to the young man. I think its great that kids still participate in sports when they are young. It gives them confidence and keeps them off the internet and playing video games. So many young people disconnect from real life. Hope he keeps it up.
  7. Dang my Walmart don't carry any of that stuff much less put it on clearance. Got to talk to the manager about that.
  8. So sad to hear. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. He was a pioneer and teacher in our sport.
  9. That's what I do to all my reels. Saves money and time when I have to re-spool which is usually 2-3 times a year.
  10. The big downside to using snaps is the amount of force applied to a hook set could cause it to open. This happened to me on several occasions during a fishing trip so I don't use them anymore. I was using quality snaps and each time I ended up losing the bait in the fishes mouth. If you want the bait to move freer just tie a loop knot. Just my opinion.
  11. I had a similar idea about some blank lures as a winter project. Decided to go with paint pens bought at a local Walmart. I also decided not to get too many colors, just stick with the basics of green, brown, orange, yellow and silver. This is my first creation. Got to pick up some eyes, coat it with something and scavenge some hooks and rings and she's ready to go.
  12. Ugghhh. After Wednesdays storm that gave us less than expected I figured we were doing good. Then this morning I look out my window and find that its snowed 2" overnight. This winter will never end.
  13. Didn't know about that. Thanks for the info.
  14. Stupid questions in 3...2....1. If you buy 4 packs of Berkley Power Worms in 2 separate purchases are they still eligible for the rebate? What if the purchase price is less than the rebate?
  15. Yup. Seems a long time ago there was a mine that was dug too close to the surface. When the mine caved in the water flooded the mine. They were throwing everything they could find into the hole to plug it. Including mine cars, rail cars, household items, you name it. Unfortunately it still is a dumping ground for many people. Every year there are cleanups that are held on various parts of the river. I've was fishing the banks one day when I heard a car stop on the road and tires started rolling down the hill at me. If I could have caught that mo%$@!%^(er I would have shown him where he could put those tires.
  16. I wish we still had a Sportsman's Warehouse. They were always a good place to pick up baits and rods cheap. Got a good flipping rod from them for only $40 out the door.
  17. Welcome to the most informative forum on bass fishing on the internet. Feel free to add to the wealth of knowledge we have here.
  18. Use to back reel when I fished cheaper reels, used lighter line and used a more limber rod. I don't do it anymore since upgrading all of those things.
  19. Only about 10% for me. Most of my tackle comes from a nearby Walmart. I do have a BPS and Cabela's within an hours drive of me. Its 2 hrs to the nearest small bait and tackle shop but its worth the travel.
  20. Sorry I can't help ya. I have been to BASS tourneys and they were a blast. Got there a couple of hours before weigh-ins and got to cruise in a new skeeter bass boat, got some free swag from Milwaukee's best, and when the pros came in, got to scope out their boats and the gear they were using. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys bass fishing.
  21. I learned that no matter how much you wish it was spring, it ain't till it is! YouTube has no idea what songs I like. Licking your computer monitor isn't a good way to clean it. The plant I work at never shuts down because of GOOD weather. My neighbors dog prefers my sidewalk to use as a bathroom. Giving 110% of my effort really just means doing the same thing I did before only not taking a nap after. I'm unique like everyone else. Cheese is just milk trying to live forever. If a psychic has to ask your name they probably ain't that good. Silence is golden but duct tape comes in many colors.
  22. I give it a 5. Zappa has always been beyond me.
  23. When the owner of the local bait & tackle shop calls you to see if you are ok because he hasn't seen you in a week. When its mid-winter and you get angry at the ice cube tray in your freezer. When you see people walking by a lake and wonder why they don't have fishing rods in their hands.
  24. That's a great stretch. You'll find a few islands, some riffles and some rocky spots in that area. I'd keep a good selection of tubes, senkos, and even small spinner baits like a beetle spin on hand. I've also heard people say that Ned rigs work really well if the river is low. Good luck in the tournament.
