RIP Mr Hibdon. Condolences to his family and friends. One of my favorite "early" guys. I'm going to dig out some of my bugs and catch a few in his honor.

God grant that I live to fish until my dying day,
And when it comes to my last cast I humbly pray
When in the Lords safe landing net I am peacefully asleep,
That in his mercy I am judged as good enough to keep.

The King of Finesse fishing...won BASS tournaments using spinning gear with line 4,6 and 8#'s. Then the Guido Bug hits the stores and a new wave begins. Read his stuff and use his techniques.

Truly a GIANT in the BASS fishing world...

That's a shame....prayers to his family and friends.

When I was in younger, Guido Hibdon was the winner of the first Classic I remember watching/following.

This is truly sad news.  All of us Missouri bass anglers take a lot of pride in Guido, his son Dion, and the story of the Guido bug.

Guido was one of the real ground breakers in bass fishing. He used a spinning rod when many anglers didn't even own one. I'm saddened by his passing. He does define the term legend.
