  1. Great thing is by the end of this week February will be more than half over. Then comes the rain and ice in March. By April we usually get a stretch of 60 degree days. That's when the fun starts.
  2. Really cool. The fact that they brought a crane in to build the structures is funny.
  3. While I was looking at The Classic field I noticed one particular angler. Stanley Sypeck Jr. is from Sugarloaf, PA. Not too far from me. He qualified by winning a Northern Open on Onieda. Cool to have someone local in the big show. Hope he does well.
  4. I use worm weights, those cone shaped weights commonly used for texas rigging a lure. They are less likely to come out IMO and you can get them as light as 1/16 oz. Plus I have a bunch of them sitting around in various weights so I don't have to go out and buy any.
  5. I got a room full of weapons in my arsenal and that seems to be the problem. Too much stuff = too many decisions. Been looking to trim things down and not buy as much this winter. Of course, that is not working very well as the bait monkey seems to make me his personal project. Where ever I go, there he is. Stalking me like some deranged ex-girlfriend that I owe money to who just happens to be a repo goon who was formerly an IRS agent. But anyway, good luck with your lures and just remember.....I started out just like you. With just a few lures, a kitchen table and a sponge.
  6. Had no luck. Only guy who made it to last day was J. Lucas. 58th out of 85 ain't good. Did worst over at TW.
  7. Watching Bassmaster Live and was wondering what some of the abbreviations for stats are such as TK and +4C? I assume LP is land percentage.
  8. Here they are talking about 50's by Thursday. Not sure if its gonna come true but since the weather man said so, it probably won't.
  9. At least you got close. Closest I've been to fishing is the seafood section at the grocery store.
  10. Giselle was right..... He can't throw the ball and catch it too!
  11. I got Wheeler, Howell, J. Lucas, Horton (last minute change), and Chris Lane.
  12. Honestly, I buy more tackle in the summer than in winter. Having an over-abundance of tackle means nothing is absolutely needed. Keep in mind that I've been collecting tackle since I was 18. Even with last year's sell off of 12 tackle trays full of lure, I still have more than I need or will every use. But that will never stop me from getting the latest, greatest lures. Its a sickness I tell ya.
  13. Been struggling with my team for a week now. Made a few swaps and I'll check in tonight before I go to sleep. Might change things up a bit. Anybody know if they'll be running the internet coverage of this event?
  14. I think you hit the nail on the head. Very crowded segment means everybody has their favorites. Most people I know throw a rattletrap or one knocker. Every other company is playing catch-up.
  15. Unfortunately that isn't a picture out of my window and I don't have a cat.
  16. Heck yea I use them. If you fish around rocks, trees, bridge supports or any object and you are fishing from shore those cheapo spinner baits are the way to go. I save my money for the baits I'm fairly certain I'm not gonna lose on the first cast.
  17. I think this is very true. Many teams let the mystique of the pats get to them. The Eagles played their game with their strengths. Didn't change the game plan and it paid off.
  18. In muddy conditions I like spinner baits with Colorado blades or wide-wobbling crank baits. It gives those fish that are biting something to hone in on. As others have stated, not all muddy water is the same. Cold, muddy water will have a different effect on bass than warm (above 70 degrees), muddy water. Best thing to do would be to start from scratch, like you have never been to this lake before and just try to find fish. Explore deep and shallow and everywhere in between. Consider it a day of learning on the lake.
  19. Black Lake, NY Sept. 2011
  20. Depends on where I'm fishing. Most of the places I fish have weeds which are less abrasive. So I don't retie after every fish. But when I'm fishing a crank bait around rocks, or any bait around rocks, I retie more than after every fish. Also if I'm fishing around logs.
  21. Not sure how you can tell. At least not in North Philly.
  22. Wish you could hear it outside my place. Fireworks and guns going off left and right. Sounds like a war zone.
  23. Glad to be wrong. Gonna be a party in Philly tonight.
  24. A little too hardcore for me. 4
