I believe both were the case. They needed the 4 seats for employees thus it was overbooked. I thought it was interesting that one of the people who was asked to leave and did was the doctor's wife. I have never flown but as I understand it, the agreement when purchasing a ticket allows airlines to overbook and offer compensation to passengers booted because of overbooking. If you have ever purchased a ticket to a concert or sporting event they have a extensive list of conditions that allow them to boot you from the arena. Some even state that they can have you removed for holding up a sign they do not like. It doesn't even have to be vulgar. No compensation, no apology, just get out and a big, burly guy behind you making that journey more hasty. It is what it is.

I think you may be wrong on this. I can't find anything in the rule book that states that you can't target beds. You do have to immediately release any bass caught between April 16 and June 17. But as far as not being able to target spawning beds, I don't see that in the regs.

I know how you all feel. Routinely I see people at state parks, lakes and walking trails throwing garbage on the ground. All we can really do is be responsible for ourselves and get the word out about clean-up efforts in our area. I make it a point after heavy rains/snow melts to take a walk around a state park along the Susquehanna River with a garbage bag to pick up the trash the high water deposits. Sadly, according to the state park rangers, I'm the only one they have ever seen doing this except on Earth Day.

Yup. Ebay, craigslist, flea markets, friends and family, the "for sale" ads on this forum are all good places to find cheap lures, reels, rods and anything else you need. Don't forget that your preferences may change over the years. I've found this to be true in my case. That's why I suggest not buying more than you need now.

I don't like buying bundles/lots. Many times you get only a few lures you find productive on your waters. If I was you I would go with the basics at first and refine what you need and what you don't. Don't buy a lot of lures that work now because that may change later. Trust me, the guy with tons of baits I don't use anymore. Also think about the way you like to fish and buy baits that fit your style.

Looks like a lot of us didn't do good on day 4. I had no one in the top 12 so I was out. On to Ross Barnett.

Only 2 of the 4 anglers fishing today improved their standings. Powroznik from 45th to 18th and Evers from 32nd to 25th. The other 2 lost ground. Other than that its nice to see the rookie Jamie Hartman show the veterans how its done.

Here in PA about 5 yrs ago they started selling licenses in 1, 3 and 5 yr increments. Best thing they could have done. I'm not sure why other states don't follow suit. Funny story about being stopped by the Guppy Patrol. About 4 years ago I was fishing along the Susquehanna river in February. It was too cold for any action but I had cabin fever and didn't care. After about an hour without a bite I packed up my tackle and started walking back to the road. I look ahead and 2 guys in green vests are walking towards me. I knew right away who they were and what they wanted. The 2 Waterways Conservation Officers stopped me and asked to see my license. In PA your fishing license must be worn in plain view so that it can be seen when fishing. Mine was on the back of my fishing vest so I started taking off my vest. While doing so I accidentally poked one of the WCO's in the face with the tip of my fishing rod. The other WCO was laughing too hard to check my license, he just told me to have a nice day.

Only 2 of my anglers improved their positions from day 1. All the others got worse.

The first day was not so good. Best one was Edwin Evers at 15th. Then Greg Hackney at 19th, Jacob Powroznik in 31st, KVD at 34th and finally Justin Lucas at 60. Hope tomorrow is better.

Ditto. Ditched my tackle box about 20 yrs ago. Picked up a large canvas bag, kinda like a luggage bag. It came with 6 plano boxes. I added about 6 more. Now the thing weights about 40 pounds loaded for a normal trip. Not exactly something I could strap to my back.
