Anyone ever "started over"? (Philosophical musings itt)
OP I'm in the process of doing the same thing only on a smaller scale. I've got about 15 tackle packs of lures I haven't used and am selling them at an upcoming auction. Mostly soft plastics but a few crankbaits and jerkbaits that have never seen the light of day. I think its good to shed the clutter, downsize the collection and concentrate on the baits that work for you. Having said that, I still have about 50 tackle packs of lures that won't be going to auction.

Steering wheels need user warnings on them
How about this..."Caution, only use for steering. Do not use wheel to steady cell phone. If used this way you void all warranties and are an idiot. Also will make all of your photos look fat."

Totaled boat
Simple. Every insurance has a "valid till" date. If your accident happened and was reported before that date they have to pay. If they did or did not send you a bill to renew does not matter. If you did not renew when you should have you don't have insurance. Just like any service, you are responsible to renew if you got a bill or not. Only time this would be different is if your insurance specifically says it will not drop you if you are late in paying your renewal fee. This is what I have on my auto insurance. P.S. Sorry about the boat.

What was your worst fishing purchase decision ever?
Had one too but thankfully lost it on the first cast to a huge rock. Not sure that counts as a fishing purchase but....whadaheck.

Fantasy Fishing
Things that surprised me were that Ott Defoe on day 3 only caught 1 fish and how KVD came from 60th to 3rd place.

Where to donate
Your fish & game (fish & boat in PA) office will probably take them or at least tell you where you can donate the equipment.

The Bengals take Joe Mixon......not really surprising.

wrestling champ!
Congrats to the champ. Wrestling is a great sport to develop self-confidence and both physical and mental strength. Nice to see not all kids today are stuck behind a keyboard.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've got some time coming up so I'll try to fix it and if I think its not gonna work I'll replace it.

Rod Handle
The handle on my favorite spinning rod is pretty beat up. The cork is discolored and starting to separate. I want to save this rod because its the best (cheap) spinning rod and is great for throwing lighter lures as well as medium weight lures. What should I do to repair the handle? Also where (websites or stores) can I get the stuff I need to do the job?

I love this feeling
I wouldn't drink the water. Those are the most deformed bass I've ever seen.

New Texas bass record?
Much like most of the reports on today's news shows, it seems this report is a fake. I think the Russians were involved.

Storm 360gt
Bringing back this thread for a few questions. Has anybody fished these for awhile? Are they durable? I've been wondering about the heads and hooks on these baits. Any problems with bending hooks or chipping paint?

Using Maximum Drag Setting When Fishing
I admit I do set my drag to the max mainly because I fish a lot of weeds. I need to be able to yank that bass out of the weeds or I'll lose them most of the time. Some of the first reels I got didn't have strong drags and I lost more fish because of it.
