  1. Happens to me every year. Such a shame.
  2. Bravo Sir. It takes skill to wrangle a hog like that with light equipment.
  3. I was going night fishing with a friend and he directly told me not to forget my rain gear. That day as I was packing my truck I remembered the rain jacket and pants. Brought them out of my house, sat them on the ground, put in all the other stuff in my truck and took off for the launch ramp. Yep, I said "sat them on the ground". Thats where they were all night long. I was out in the boat with my friend fishing when the rain started. He said "You better put on your rain coat" and I said "&*#%!". I spent the next 5 hours trying to fish with a trash bag on me.
  4. If you are talking about the 2 holes in front of the seat and the two holes behind the seat in the picture those are suppose to be there. They are for emptying water from your yak. The problem you are having is the same I have with my pelican yak. It is not well made. My yak will actually bend and become soft in hot weather. Also its weight capacity is not to be believed. My yak is rated for a max capacity of 250 lbs. Now I'm not skinny but am well under that mark and even with all my gear I'm still 30 lbs under the max. Still, if I'm not paddling the water will come up into my yak thru the holes. If I buy another yak I will pay more for quality.
  5. Naw...I'm sure he's just fine. Maybe someone should call him? Or maybe a text?
  6. Great baits for summer smallmouths. Don't discount them because of the size. Bass will eat them. Just find the speed they want and have fun.
  7. No. Bass will eat a Rapala just as quick as they will eat a megabass. They don't know what a brand is. They are just fish. We are the ones that get caught up on having the best and most expensive baits, rods, reels, boats, etc.
  8. Good Moses, now we don't just have to worry about the machines rising up to exterminate us but the bass are gonna help them do it.
  9. I still got a jar of Uncle Josh's somewhere. Use to put them on spinner baits too.
  10. Probably a 3 inch grub. I use it but in the days of expensive lures these inexpensive lures seem to get lost in the noise.

Had, I repeat, had to go to New Jersey to help a friend. While there I stopped in the Cinnaminson walmart on RT. 130 just to see what they had. Well what I found was great. They had Strike King tungsten weights on sale for 1.50 a pack. Just to let you know I got the only pack of 1/2 ounce and the last 3 packs of 3/8 ounce. But there are plenty of 1/4 ounce left. They are back by the fishing section in a display in the middle of the aisle. Who says nothing great comes out of New Jersey!
  12. Could have been a lot worse and more expensive. You are a lucky guy.
  13. Rapala Husky Jerk. I don't throw jerkbaits often but they are the ones I throw.
  14. Education is always a worthwhile pursuit. Go learn yourself something good young man.
  15. I think its funny that developments are named after things that were there and no longer are. Around here I've seen an area that was bulldozed flat named "Valley Acres", a development that use to have trees that is called "Pine Tree Run" and a little pond that was drained to put houses on called "Small Waters".
  16. God lord my colon would kill me if I even tried to eat that. Enjoy it for those of us who can not.
  17. This is funny but.... this is really funny.
  18. We've all been fooled by isolated fish. You think you have the beginnings of a pattern and spend the next few hours realizing we don't. Use it as a learning moment. 1 fish is luck, 2 fish are a start to a pattern, 10 fish is a good day.
  19. I'm like you, I really like Jackall Crosstails. Clone Fries are also good too. Check out their orange belly bluegill pattern. Its a fish catcher.
  20. That is what we have all been wondering. Some say it was Big Feets, others say he hit a unicorn with a jackalope on its back. Yet others, and I say they are totally off-base, think it was a vampire/werewolf combination. But that makes no sense. We all know vamp-wolfs don't like gel-coating. Its practically like a silver garlic stake to the heart for were-pires.
  21. Had an interesting experience at Gander Mountain yesterday. When I entered the door there was a bin of lures marked half off about 10 feet from the door. One other guy was rooting thru it so I joined in. As I was shuffling baits around a young lady about 20 or so, carrying a designer bag, wearing big sunglasses and with manicured and painted nails came over and started sifting through the pile with us 2 guys. She had something in mind cause like us she was pushing aside baits and looking at the colors and turning the packaging over to read the back. After finding a few goodies for my collection I moved along, checking out the other lures. After that I was headed to the guns but before I made it there I found another area with lures and more "bargain" bins and, sure enough, the young lady had beat me to it and was rifling through it like a champ. So much so that she hit the store worker with a pack of soft plastics as she was tossing them aside. I'm telling you she knew what she was doing. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a truck with a Tackle Warehouse sticker in the back window.
  22. I don't no what any of those words mean but I agree....or not, maybe.
  23. Reb67 if I was you I would stop fishing where ever that happened. Those sharks are too big if they can take a bite outta your boat like that. Or maybe you hit a deer with your boat. That can cause damage like that.
  24. I can't believe Greg Hackney only caught 2 fish for a total of 5 pounds today. He's one of the best flippers in the business.
