  1. Too cool. Talk about a road trip. Can't wait to see the video.
  2. I love checking out the clearance rack at Walmart. Every spring I always find good bargains. Mostly on terminal tackle. But its hit and miss as far as what you find.
  3. If you are including PA check out Wacky Worm in the Poconos. They can get anything you want.
  4. This is how I cook my steaks.... . If I'm gonna eat steaks I'm gonna enjoy the experience.
  5. Gundog replied to DUMAN's topic in Fishing Tackle
They don't call them "bucket mouths" for nuthin'.
  6. You'll be in good company with me.
  7. Your looking for the holy grail kid. Maximum distance with no possibility of a backlash just doesn't exist. Human error is always the variable. Just one bad cast, one second when your focus isn't 100% and...BAM....you're cutting 100 yds of good mono off your spool and that's if you're lucky to be using mono. Just learn how to use the breaks and spool tension knob, learn how to make smooth casts, and train your thumb to hit the spool when the bait hits the water and you'll be fine. Don't go down rabbit holes, it gets you nowhere.
  8. Glad to hear the great news.
  9. Only thing I can add is that some guides have a "No fish, no charge" policy especially in areas where there are a lot of guides. I had a friend who wanted to fish Ontario but didn't like live bait fishing so when he contacted the guide he told him he would be willing to forego the policy if they could fish with lures. The guide agreed.
  10. Man that helicopter lure is deadly this time of year at Okeechobee. Guides down there throw nothing but it.
  11. Ohhh...a revolver is on my wish list. Really want a S&W 686 but not to carry.
  12. MLF or Zona's show are my favorites. The Bass Pro's is another good one. Hook&Look is pretty interesting cause he goes under the water to show you what the bass are doing. I too miss City Limits Fishing. I thought it was a good idea for a fishing show.
  13. Dingdingdingding...I think we have a winner. You guessed correctly that this post was about fantasy fishing and not actual fishing.
  14. Scary situation. If it wasn't bad enough that the main spillway caved in, now the auxiliary spillway is starting to erode. I hope those in the way of this water are safe and hope for a safe ending to this.
  15. Nice rifle dtux.
  16. Actually from the accent John Ferraro is probably from New Jersey. Just a guess. Even so he seems like a normal guy who has a special talent and wants us to know about it.
  17. But can you have a meaningful conversation with that?
  18. I got to meet Ray Scott at a seminar back in '89 and I'll tell ya the guy is a heck of a speaker and a great showman. He's got more stories than you can believe and is a huge part of American outdoor sports history.
  19. Hey wait..that don't add up!
  20. I agree with Team9nine and Jeff H. Go with the current weather patterns. Fish don't own computers, cell phones, watches or any other stuff we go. Don't put too much importance in voodoo. I've had people tell me lunar tables are important and always site a specific day. But they never give any examples of when it didn't work so I'm very skeptical about their findings.
  21. Again a man following his passion.
  22. So true. When fish are stacked up in certain places this type of fishing is considered "Old School". I know guys who do this for walleye and smallies but they use live bait on a small jig. No difference really. Sit on top of a hole and drop the bait down and move it just a bit and wait for the bites.
  23. I haven't tried that brand but have tried other holsters that have a cover. I can tell you this. I don't like the idea of having a lid on my CC. Its one more step that I have to go thru to get to my gun.
  24. Its not the mask that disturbs us, its the fact that you're wearing the rest of the costume with it.
  25. You got some skills there Hootie. Keep up the carving.
