  1. ^^^^This^^^^^ Just don't tell them you check out TW on work time. They'll know that you do but keep up the illusion.
  2. Snakes....sorry, I thought the question was greatest fear. I would suggest saying something like this. "My greatest weakness is I care about my fellow workers and my own personal hygiene. I've been known at previous jobs to sniff out a rather odorous coworker and offer small amounts of mouth wash, deodorant and baby powder. Once I asked a coworker to step outside. When he did I locked the door behind him. In my defense, he had curry for lunch. I did what I had to for the greater good." After that stand up and walk smartly out of the room. You'll get the job. Trust me.

  4. Mine is what my uncle called me when he found out how many guns I had.
  5. I still don't get it.
  6. This resurrected thread is timely. I just had a day on the water where every fish I hooked with a spinner bait jumped and threw the hook. 10 bass in all never made it to my thumb. Caught 5 on a football head jig with a twin tailed grub. Didn't have a problem landing them and they jumped too. Normally I "ski" them to the boat, today I didn't and lost them. That'll teach me to play Bill Dance.
  7. Wow, some nice bass on light tackle. It definitely takes skill to land big bass using 6# line. Bravo Sir.
  8. I've been on both sides of this and if I'm catching them and my pal ain't I'll go as far as to give them the same kind of bait I'm using. However, when my buddy just won't slow down the retrieve or even use what I'm catching them on, ain't nothing I can do. If I'm not catching fish and my friend is, I adjust. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. Basically, if I'm on the losing end of this I take responsibility. I don't expect the other guy in the boat to help me catch fish.

Simple solution to a complexed situation. Genius.
  10. Welcome aboard Jared. You got a pretty good fishery in Nockamixon for largemouths and you're not too far from the Delaware River for smallmouths. Good luck.
  11. I like pb shaken not stirred. 007
  12. Had that happen to me decades ago. I was fishing a bridge and a ball of baitfish showed up. Before I knew it the bass were pushing them to the surface. It looked like fireworks going off. I backed off and threw topwater, spinnerbaits, crankbaits and almost everything else I had at them and didn't catch one fish. That day was so aggravating it stuck in my mind all these years and I'll probably remember it till the end.
  13. OP if you want a little trick to stop those really bad backlashes I got it. Spool your line up and take your rod&reel to the backyard or local park or lake. Bring with you a roll of scotch tape (also called clear tape). Make a cast and pull off about 30 or 40 more feet then put a piece of scotch tape where the line meets the spool. It will stop backlashes from going any further than the tape and if you need to move the tape just pull it off and pull 30 or 40 more feet of line off and put the same piece of tape back where the line meets the spool. Trust me it works.
  14. Good luck finding tires to fit that truck at Walmart.
  15. Congrats on the bass and hope you enjoy a long, healthy, fun-filled retirement with more bass just like the one in the pic only bigger.
  16. I was putting mono on it. Because it was backing, I used cheap mono that I just stripped off the reel when I found it wasn't turning. Tried turning the bare spool and it ain't turning. Nearest GM is about 1 1/2 hrs away. Otherwise I'd agree with ya but I was told everything they sold didn't have a warranty.
  17. Yesterday I bought a Gander Mtn. Vortex 100L H baitcaster. Tried it out in the store and it seemed fine and for $40 why not. This morning while trying to put line on it, suddenly the spool stopped spinning. Tightened down the spool tension knob didn't work, neither did tightening the drag. I don't have time right now to open it up but looks like I bought a dude. Can't take it back cause I was told there are no returns. They had spinning reels there too. Be careful of what you buy. I'm out $40 plus tax. Just glad it wasn't more.
  18. I'm gonna post this in another thread but just so everyone sees it, I want to give out a warning about Gander Mtn reels. I was at a GM and picked up a baitcaster for $40. Its their store brand called the Vortex 100. The have spinning reels too. Be careful. The one I bought worked for about 10 minutes. Sadly, I can't take it back because of the fact they are going out of business. Looks like they are just dumping garbage now.
  19. They had them at a DSG in King of Prussia that I walked into on Saturday. But the selection was slim at best.
  20. Yea but who needs all of that stuff. I'll take the money.
  21. Ditto and I'm not just saying that cause I picked him. I think he's the first guy I picked that finished first.

Check out Lake Lackawanna in Lackawanna State Park. Great bass fishing and small enough that you can get a kayak or canoe out on it easy. Some good bass have been pulled out of there. Prompton dam is up that way too. I've never fished it but heard its good.
  23. That might be the worm I'm thinking of. Do they come in pink and white? Cause the worms I remember came in pink and white and were used in the 80's during BASS tourneys during high water times in flooded cover. They were used with a bare hook and allowed to flutter down then twitched.
  24. What about Zoom's Trick Worm? Don't they float? I have used them t-rigged but never just with a hook.
  25. Only got 1 guy in the top 12. Go Kennedy.
