  1. You are right on both accounts. BTW its also hard feeding the bait monkey when you are 48, don't live with your parents, have a low paying job, need to pay 20% of all your medical expenses, dress like a homeless guy gave you his hand-me-downs, own a car that breaks down every thursday, lives in a town that raises its taxes twice a year, etc, etc, etc. But we all still do it. Jump on the bandwagon and be happy.
  2. ^^^^This without a doubt.
  3. Have you caught any fish with it? I got more than enough lures that only caught one big mouth and that was me. ......No, I'm not gonna say anything.......I promise........really! But if I did......nope, not gonna say it.
  4. The Jason Christie story is a perfect example of why its a good idea to have us old people around. He said it himself. You can't trust just anybody with a procedure like that. It takes somebody with experience and knowledge. And who has more of both of those things than the advanced in age.

Dude you Michigan people really know how to have a good time.
  6. Eh, 3 of my guys improved, 2 dropped like stones. Only 3 in the top 50 and none in the top 20. Next tourney I'm getting a monkey to pick them.
  7. I have KVD, Combs, Martens, Powroznik, and Omori. The best out of that pack is Martens who is 33rd. Looks like a lot of guy that did very little in the first bunch of tourneys showed up for this one.
  8. It happens to us all. I had one last year when I saw a fish hit a insect on the top of the water. In my excited haste I tried to make a quick cast there and swung the lure too low, hitting the inside of my canoe with the bait which caused a monstrous backlash that still haunts my dreams. I just put the rod and reel down and picked up the spinning gear and humbly admitted defeat for that day.
  9. Cool pics. What kind of rods/reels/line are you using to catch these beauties?
  10. George Foreman once told me "Boxing is all about footwork." I guess so is bass fishing.
  11. Stopped by one of the closing Gander Mountains Saturday and walked out with nothing...... Here's to you baitmonkey!!!!!
  12. Name that should be on the top of the list of baby names....Here. Imagine your parents yelling "Come here, Here! Stay here, Here!" "Don't do that here, Here!" Echo, echo, echo.
  13. OP my advice for you is simple. Keep a tighter line on the lure till you get a feel for when to set the hook (sometimes you'll think you have a sixth sense about when a fish is gonna bite) and don't worry about missing fish. It happens.
  14. SPRINKLES!!!!
  15. ^^^^This. I've never fished Dardanelle but if they are pulling a lot of water out that is how it is gonna fish. My advice is similar to others. Fish the back side of rocky points. Also anything in the water can be a "current break". Including stumps and logs.
  16. That's what I think. That is a fat hawg you got there.
  17. I have the black one w/ yellow accents and the bone colored one. Neither one has produced. For a $15 lure it was a total bust. After an hour of using it in the early morning I switched to a Heddon Spit'N Image and caught a bass in less than 5 minutes.
  18. If you don't want to buy a bigger net (I think we need a bigger boat. Jaws reference.) get a pair of long pliers and release the fish without holding it. I carry a long pair of pliers for fishing on the Susquehanna river cause sometimes (rarely) I will hook into a musky and actually get it close enough to release it. But most of the time the musky just gets close enough to see what is on the other end of the line and then he/she opens up their mouth and the lure comes flying back at me.

Just get an old one. They can't complain about that.
  20. Stupidity use to bother me. I've seen a lot of it over the years. Things like putting a pontoon boat on a shallow river, launching a 18' Tracker boat onto an "open to the public" pond that had no launch ramp, boats running full speed in a no-wake zone, jet skis doing circles around my jon boat, first time boaters not doing a pre-launch check and finding they didn't put in the drain plug in their new boat, boats crowding around one boat that is catching fish, drug and alcohol use on the water and so much more. Now I try not to let it bother me but to tell you the truth sometimes it still does.
  21. You ask and I will tell. Location, lure, weather conditions, color of the water, color of my underwear. Anything you wanna know, I will tell ya. Cause I know you can't catch all of those green and brown little beauties. Cause I gotta biggggg mouth!
  22. Gundog replied to Munkin's topic in Everything Else
    Repped ya for that too.
  23. Hand her this and walk out the door with your fishing rods.... Trust me its the cheapest way out of this.
  24. My butt is numb from the crappy weather we been having. Rainstorms muddying the waters, raising the river and giving me that unhappy feeling.
  25. Gundog replied to Munkin's topic in Everything Else
Its too late to question why, just go along with it and yea, I repped you for it.
