  1. I'll only grease the main gear & pinion when I do a full reel tear down. I'll just oil the bearings and grease the wormgear if i'm just doing a "light" cleaning. I only do a full tear down when the reel is feeling geary or not a smooth as it should be. I don't think there's any reason to differentiate between a "moving bait" reel and a "flipping reel". Oil the bearings, grease the gears.
  2. I also use mine for swim jigs.. just saying.
  3. For 3/8th and 1/2oz jigs, the 7'2MH Expride is the stick to get. I have two of them now, they are very versatile rods. The balance is amazing on them as well.
  4. I think ya'll need to switch to shipping in tubes vs two boxes taped together.
  5. Wow.. of course the 7'2 MH Glass is sold out until June. Grab those 7'2 MH's though while they have them.
  6. Honestly just a regular TRD or Big TRD. Walleyes love the need rig, particularly around rocks and reefs.
  7. Edge seems to always have some sort of sale/discount going. Prehaps their MSRP is sort of inflated to make people think they need to jump on "deals"?
  8. It's not that hard to find Jackhammers for around 13 bucks, so I'm not getting why 1-2 dollars less is worth even considering.
  9. This is my lineup going into the 2019 season. I've finally purged my collection of oddball manufacture rods & rods that I was not totally smitten with. I've really focused on quality and decided these are the brands/models that really speak to me (currently). These guys have made the cut (so far). Baitcast reels are mostly Curado K's, Lew's Tournament Pro's, or Tatula's. Spinning reels are either Ballistic or Tatula LT's. *the bed has no sheets because I just moved it down from my daughters room & we need to buy some non-princess bedding for it* L to R.. 10. That looks fun! What are they eating? Details sir.
  11. Tossed a donation in, very cool of you to raise money. Hope you do well in the derby!
  12. New boat & motor!? pics!
  13. Yes, the blue on blue is great.
  14. From my personal experience, if you have 200-300 to spend you NEED to consider Megabass Orochi XX (or even a new Levante), Shimano Expride, and either the St Croix Legend Tournament or Avid X line.
  15. Giving the new Outkast ned heads a whirl this year. My buddy Josh Douglas designed them. They have some subtle differences from most of the ned heads. Can't wait to give 'em a whirl for smallies & walleyes this year.
  16. http://www.allterraintackle.com has 40% off going with code: BASSHEADS They have pretty good jigs and I'm a big fan of their swing-head football heads because you can easily slap any hook you want on them. Great for river fishing.
  17. 20% off at Gander this weekend
  18. No haha...that's why I've started using cheap mono backing on most of my setups that use fluorocarbon. Save some money.
  19. More times than I'd like to admit I've had this sequence of events... sit down, start motor, punch it, why am I getting wet, frack I didn't put the trolling motor up!
  20. I got a Levante perfect pitch for $155 shipped! That's pretty close to cost for most shops. Need something to huck 6" mag drafts with.
  21. Where's the pics?!
  22. It may not say AGS in the listing but they don't make a non-AGS rod in that model. and if you scroll down a bit.... Item model number: TAEL761MLMFS-AGS
  23. $100 off the Feider AGS Hair Jig rod.. https://www.amazon.com/Daiwa-Tatula-Signature-1-Piece-Light-Medium/dp/B073QDKSPZ?fbclid=IwAR0e9D-TBljJ9xvgkOe_Sr5twG-GPA4Gr8m1uj7_ui2rdhMEdC3w7XUFC6E
  24. I got some rigging done today. I found a crazy deal on a HDS7 carbon a while back so I installed it. I can't afford a fancy mount at the moment so I'm just going to run dual Ram's for the time being. What's cool is my HDS12 on the bow has two network ports so it's stupid easy to connect Lowrance units to share data. I'm going to run maps on one and sonar on the other. I'm an offshore finesse kinda guy, so i'm excited not have to do split-screen maps/sonar anymore.
  25. The weather never cooperates around here.
