  1. Which one lives in his mom's basement!? Peric just moved into a house in IL he had built, John B also bought a house in Texas. Flair has a huge property in Nebraska (plus a townhouse?). Lunker's just built a massive house.. they all seem to be doing quite well for themselves considering their ages. Exactly, Steve Parks invented it and gets a cut of all these baits that use his parents. I believe he still works for Strike King as of today.
  2. It's a great frog rod, but i'm mostly using it for mag drafts and power shotting.
  3. I'm excited to hit Mille Lacs tomorrow to test out the new toy. I can't wait to play around with the new high res side imaging. Upgrading from a HDS12 gen 3 total scan. We're going out of Liberty and hitting the east side all day.
  4. "Style over substance"... have you seen 13's product line? That's kind their main thing. Be flashy and visually interesting.
  5. www.omniafishing.com (online & physical tackle shop out of Minnesota) has a good 4th of july sale going.. these guys are supporting a bunch of the local bass clubs this year via sponsorship so I like giving them some publicity.
  6. 13 Fishing is dropping a HUGE line of plastics. Like an insane amount of them. They have some pretty unique designs too, i'm slightly impressed.
  7. Hah, this is great!
  8. I have this rod and so-far-so-good.
  9. Z-Man is coming out with the MAG TRD.. everyone else is going fineness, they are upsizing!

  12. If you think Avid X's spinning rods are tip heavy, try a Legend Tournament Bass spinning rod. Oooofda.
  13. Aww all that quality content gone! Darn. The entire saga online today has been quite amazing to watch spread over all the fishing forums & facebook.
  14. That SDFish article on him is 9 pages of AMAZING writing and journalism. I found it even more entertaining than the youtube video. The levels that guy went to to cheat in tournaments & setting lake records was pretty amazing.
  15. Thinking about making a Mille Lacs run on Sunday. The wind report is looking choice.
  16. What worm do you like for Neko? I was able to get a popper and frog bite going last evening. It's starting up!
  17. Tell that to the 6lb smallmouth I caught a few weeks ago off a TRD on Mille Lacs.
  18. Yup.. here comes the Ned wave https://www.instagram.com/p/By-ZqKngS13/?igshid=89889koc6m5a
  19. I have a feeling EVERYONE is going to be dropping ned plastics this iCast.
  20. I love this thread because I currently own all 3 of these reels... Of the 3, my favorite would be the Lews Pro Ti for a few reasons. The Pro TI has a few things going for it. It's beautiful, very smooth and quite easy to dial in. It's one of my least tempermental reels and is just a pleasure to use. It's Lews "flagship" reel so they put all the bells and whistles on it. Is it worth 350? No, but you can find them for around 250 and man it's a sweet reel. I have an Aldebaran (non MGL) and it's also a very good reel BUT it's "wow factor" is it's weight because it's small and magnesium. I don't think I've ever held a lighter reel personally. It's got a much lower line capacity but if you want to go for pure lightness, then the Aldebaran is a no brainer. If you pair an Aldebaran up with a high-end light rod, it's really fun. Personally I use my Pro TI on my Megabass Destroyer FMJ and have it spooled with 40lb braid and it's my main jig/flippin combo. The reel is quite powerful and very fun to flip with all day. I use my Aldebaran on a St Croix Legend X 7'1 MH because the combo is INSANELY light. It feels like a toy almost. I also have a Concept C, but it's not even in the same league as the other two.
  21. The Megabass Levante Perfect Pitch is a fantastic recommendation. I have that rod and it's pretty great. You can use it for frogs, medium swimbaits, and jigs (1/2oz would be a sweet spot) and heavier texas rigs. Pair it up with any of the $100ish reels and slap some braid on it, you'll be set.
  22. Where did you get the Megabass knob?
  23. Wow Norwegian is WAY up there. I love Vermillion but I stick to the southeast/east side of the lake by Stuntz/Cable/Armstrong bays. The south and east side of the lake have TONS of rock and i've never had issues finding smallmouth. The awesome thing about Vermillion is they have tons of marker buoy's on "big" rocks.. so just find one and fish it and you'll very likely catch a smallie or 3. The smallies love hanging out under docks too.. especially ones on islands since there may be just one dock. I always do really well there with swimbaits, especially something that mimic's tulibee. So something pearl/silvery/translucent. Personally I use the Biospawn Exoswim in Feider Shad color on Vermillion and it works really well on Smallies & Walleye. Rig them heavy though, and make sure you're pulling them along the bottom. Even dead sticking once and a while. I typically use 1/4oz heads up there. The dropshot is also killer on Vermilion, but be prepared to lose a lot of weights. Bring lots of extras. I crushed last year drop shotting 4" senko's wacky style. It's like the fish up there have never seen a senko before. Even walleyes. I also had some nice fish on the ned rig and cranking rock piles w/ a squarebill. You really gotta utilize your electronics & mapping up there to eliminate dead water. My typical program is to find underwater reef or an island that I want to hit on the map. I'll drive through the area and side scan & sonar the spot. I'll stop and fish it if I see one of three things: 1. Abnormally big rocks (or rocks that are isolated apart from the 'main' grouping of rocks) 2. Presence of bait balls 3. If I marked fish (duh) If I run over a reef or run around an island/point and I don't see one of those 3 things. I'll move onto the next spot. I've also accidentally found some awesome spots by just idling around. It'll be sand.. sand... then BOOM a big random rock pile that's the size of a driveway.
  24. I spent the weekend up north 8th & 9th Crow Wing near Nevis. The lakes up there are all behind a bit. The pads are just starting to grow in and the water temps are in the mid 60's. The emerging pads really made fishing easy, since the bass were loaded up in them. I wacked fish all weekend flipping the pad stems on a texas rigged beavers & craws. Yesterday morning it was pretty calm and I got a really good frog bite going in the backs of bays. I really have to say I'm LOVING the Terminator Junior frog. My hookup ratio has really gone up.
