  1. I'm definitely going to get some things done on my boat this weekend. Maybe bring her home next week?
  2. If you got the money, most say the NRX 873 CRR is one of the best 'dragging' rods ever made.
  3. I think you'd be fine with a #1, but i'd say getting some #2, #1 and 1/0 will cover all the sizes youll need for drop shotting (on spinning gear). The main reason you want a the covershot is because it has a killer plastic keeper that's made specifically for t-rigging finesse plastics. Douglas did a good video on the covershot hooks, he runs the smallest one (#2) most of the time. I have some 1/0 drop shot hooks that I really only use when I want to drop shot flukes. Otherwise I'm using #2 or #1.
  4. Owner Covershot is THE dropshot hook for texas rigging if you want a light wire hook. The #1 is the all-around dropshot hook that a lot of pro's use. I use those for powershoting creature baits. It's a pretty stout hook. I use it with heavy line and a baticast setup for flipping cover. Fun technique.
  5. https://www.mustangsurvival.com/en_US/products/khimera-dual-flotation-pfd-MD7183.html This is actually kind cool. If I was a kayak guy this would be on my radar.
  6. I used ochos last year a little, they caught fish but I didn't think they were anything special.
  7. I held one at a local sports show and they are ridiculously light. They will be good sellers once they are in stock. The problem with buying your first high end rod, is it wont be your last.
  8. You'll get it.. they take a while.
  9. I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. I'm currently job hunting and a recruiter booked a call with me at 4pm. I need to take this call at home.. and I live way up in the north metro.
  10. If you want a great all-around rod the 7'2 MH Expride is a special stick. Good luck finding one in stock though.
  11. They always run codes.
  12. I messaged my buddy, who's a FLW Tour angler, about MFL buying FLW and he simply replied with "I thought that was their entire plan from the start." So yeah.
  13. Everything I've read and heard is that it's already a done deal. Boyd's group has bought FLW.
  14. There's a bunch of dudes in my area that are on their pro staff so they are always pumping them up on social media. One of my fishing buddies is a WD "pro staffer". I do know the 50 Gs are 50/50 glass to graphite. My buddy uses one for swim jigs and chatterbaits. Not sure about top water. I have no clue where WD gets their blanks from.. their owner kinda says all over the place. They don't use just one blank supplier. I believe they use all Alps components. The rods seem nice, but they are definitely a small company who's making a more premium product.
  15. Ended on Sunday night.
  16. Megabass, and all lures, are buy 3 get one free. https://www.kitterytradingpost.com/fishing-marine/
  17. KTP has Daiwa J-Braid, including the new Grand, buy 2 get 1 free. Looks like the deal ends today. They have all the sizes, the heavier test is under the "saltwater" links. Ignore the saltwater thing, there's no such thing as "saltwater grand". If you've been wanting to try the Grand, this is a good deal. You can add 6 spools to your cart to get 2 free ones.. and to get over 80 bucks for free shipping. Play around with the cart. https://www.kitterytradingpost.com/brands/daiwa/spring-fish-n-hunt-sale/ If you want a deep-dive review on the line.. here ya go:
  18. He finished 11th today with just one fish. Pretty crazy. Was one more bite away from championship Sunday. He's definitely on my radar now. Impressive finish.
  19. Expride 7'2MH Glass (new chatterbait rod) with a new Tatula 100. This matte black darth vader reel looks awesome on the Expride. GLX 893C with a 13 ***. For some reason I just can't let this particular *** go, it's one of my favorite reels and it fits perfectly on the GLX for some reason. I had two of these and my other one felt a little "geary", but this one is super smooth. It's the only 13 reel I have left anymore... I got it so nice and broken in. Plus they look pretty cool together.
  20. Looks like the kid is blanking today... bummer. I was hoping to see him get a camera on championship Sunday.
  21. AND he's fishing on an older Ranger with a fortrex. That'll be changing quick if this kid places in the top 5 on Sunday haha. I'm rooting for him.
  22. Are you fishing saltwater? If so yes. If freshwater.. it's not necessary.
  23. I got a current generation Aetos 7' MH casting rod (picked it up on clearance) and it's actually a really great stick. Very light, above average sensitivity. I've kept it around because I find it to be a perfect stick for fishing 3/8oz jigs shallow. Fit and finish on it is quite nice.
  24. I'm gonna toss a curveball in here and say Fly Fishing. I self-identify as a bass fisherman but I really like to dabble in other species and I really feel like i'm missing out on fly fishing for trout in Minnesota. There's some pretty awesome stream fishing in the state and someday I'm just gonna go to my local fly shop and go nuts. Catching skinny water smallies on a fly rod looks so insanely fun. Someday I want to make my own fly.
  25. Got another fishing related to-do project done this week. I finally installed some LED lights in my lockers on my Skeeter SX190. This was LONG overdue.. fumbling around in the dark at the boat ramp trying to find rod socks is DONE. My front deck already has some LED's installed so I just got some marine LED strips and used some t-tap connectors into the existing wiring for the deck lights. It was so easy to install I kinda feel stupid for not doing this last year. I also vacuumed and cleaned the carpet. She was grimy. Paging @WI_Angler1989, he's a Wisconsin smallie hunter.
