  1. I may try on Thursday or Friday. I can play with a 3/16 on spinning gear and not tick my elbow off. But I think that front/storm deal we are getting Wednesday will probably turn them off. Idk we shall see I just looked that is 2 full tabs and 1 half tab. So 55 strands of GPX speckled
  2. Yep. Had a Lee production pot a long time ago. I used to cast saltwater egg sinkers and bullets.
  3. That’s my only gripe the area we are in is a lot like where we came from. And growing. But the school system is outstanding. We will definitely move in the next 8 years once my daughter’s done with school. But you are so right. It’s nothing like Florida raising a family is amazing here
  4. I’ll have to look when I get home. It’s either 2 full and half. Or three full tabs.
  5. Yep that’s what I’ve seen and been told lol. I won’t lie I love it here. Having lived in Florida. I’d much rather live I the Midwest every day all day
  6. I saw that! Wild weather this summer lol!!
  7. I fought the plopper for years. And finally got it to work this year don’t give up on it. It’s a killer bait if they aren’t super conditioned to it in your area. I partly feel it’s the heat. And water temp. But I know in my area. It’s been ice out since early march when the ice thawed. And they have been hit hard constantly since then. I think they are just pressured and sick of seeing lures after lure. You really gotta have something different than everyone else or really nail your presentation here in the summer months I’ve noticed.
  8. Thank you. I really do prefer a finesse cut a lot of the time. It seems to work a lot better in the pressured waters here. The other on honestly I just wanted to make a really full skirt lol. I like that green a lot Thank you. I’m enjoying it. Found some good videos online. Kinda want to play with actually tying some. Possibly maybe pouring one of my own. But it’s really hard to beat sieverts prices on bare lead heads
  9. I agree half the time I just like being out there and observing and enjoying. The fish are just a bonus.
  10. My garage in Florida looked like a bomb went off between kayaks and fishing stuff. Since moving to Iowa. All the saltwater tackle and rods are gone. I sold kayaks before moving. And I’ve really whittled down my bass stuff. It just got to the point where I’m never ever gonna use all this and honestly I felt like I was wasting money lol
  11. Pretty much what we got going on here lol. Gotta love it lol.
  12. I’ve had reusable grocery store bags, cardboard boxes, milk crates all kinda crap lol. Found this guy at Walmart. It’s a plastic dresser lol
  13. If ya do enough of them it makes the cost literally less than half of buying a jig
  14. Ahh yeah it does drag some grass and scum for me as well. Depending on the water and time of year. I really love them though they work so well in so many different retrieves. I’m gonna get some ball head, football head and arky heads from him as well.
  15. Thank you. The green pumpkin is kinda full. Just messing around though. Plenty more to tie. I bought some neat colors. Even tho black, brown and green are my go to colors lol.
  16. I don’t wear my glasses fishing. Just need them driving in the dark. That said I’ve been wearing the same pair of polarized oakleys forever. They are scratched pretty bad so I just ignore the water drops and smudges as best I can lol.
  17. Haha literally my exact day as well. Basement and all. My wife found it on Amazon for my birthday. I’ll see if she can find it in her order history. ( god knows that’s pages behind now she loves Amazon) mine doesn’t have tall ceilings either. A 7’3” rod just makes it with the holder lol. I was gonna save this kinda crap for winter. But oh well. I’ll probably do it all over again then lol.
  18. Makes perfect sense!
  19. Kinda bored today it’s almost 100 feels like and bluebird sky’s here in Iowa today. So I cut the lawn and hiding inside now. Thought I’d share my small tackle hoard. I don’t keep a ton of stuff laying around I won’t use. And I’ve been trying hard to clean out what I don’t use anymore. Honestly for next season I probably won’t buy much of anything over winter except jig heads for tying jigs. Maybe a couple packs of plastics.
  20. We used to fish them all the time in Florida. Drainage ditch, canal, retention pond. Look for any kind of vegetation cover. And signs of life when ya walk it. Just try fishing it. Don’t stay hours the first time
  21. First couple jigs I’ve made. Both are siebert sniper 3/16 heads. One is black and junebug finesse cut. The other is a green pumpkin very similar to zoom green pumpkin. Really enjoying this a lot. I’ve practiced on some old tube jigs I have never used and powder painted them. Getting the hang of that. Tommorow my plain lead sniper jigs and separate weed guards will be here from Mike.
  22. Wow! Man we have had some flash flooding here and a lot of rain but nothing like that! I’m sorry to hear that.
  23. Oh for sure. Can’t wait for October. Definitely not burned out. Ya can’t have killer days every time ya go fishing. But it’s probably for the best.
  24. I think that’s gonna be the plan. That and the stretches and exercises.
