Spinnerbait storage

The only thing I've seen is the squre box made for spinnerbaits. What is everyone using?

I keep mine in the original packaging until I use them. After I take them out of the original package I use the square boxes made for spinnerbaits. They work well for me. I use the Flambeau one from Walmart.

I’m another Plano 3700 user like mn fisher. I did it to hold spinnerbaits and buzz baits when I could only take 5 boxes or so in the kayak. I kept it since I have it. It works fine. I moved my buzzbaits to a plastic heavy bag and they are fine there. But I only carry a dozen buzzbaits at a time so that’s plenty.

I've gone to a soft plastic bait binder for my spinners and buzz baits this year. Each pouch holds a different style/weight spinner and I throw a desiccant pack in each one.

I keep the bulk of them in a Flambeau hanging box, and keep 3 or 4 of my usuals hanging on a magnet strip on my gunwale.

As a spinnerbait user and abuser I have a few.

My box or boxes of choice, are simple Plano units.

One pretty old one and 3 of the a more recent model. (3505)

All employ a bait hanging type deal which allows the baits to remain mostly untangled and can promote a faster drying time.

Both features I'm looking for here.

I do use a 3504 (not pictured)  which a smaller version when fishing out of the Old Town Canoe

The ones on the right of your photo @A-Jay, those are what I use too.

Same for me.  I use the ones in the right of the photo.

I got a folding CD case from the Dollar Tree. The clear pockets are big enough to hold one spinnerbait. It zips up fairly flat and doesn’t take up much space in storage.  Amazon has cases too. Pick the one you like

I went this route and it's a nice system.

However, as a friendly PSA,

I highly encourage placing only totally dry baits into the mercerized fabric & plastic pockets.

If there is wetness involved, over time, badness happens.

Thanks.

I actually almost never place wet baits back in my box/bag. I either, let it dry while I'm fishing, or I place it in a special part, and put it to dry in the car when I'm done. If it's raining or otherwise my gear is wet I dry everything.

Perfect.

Quite a while back,

I learned that one the old fashion way . . . . Ruined baits.

Yeah, I can't stand rusty hooks. I had an instance where my gear rusted, thoug not bad. I didn't lose anything, but I spend a couple hours cleaning things up and drying everything out. I'd much rather just deal with it a few minutes as needed.

I just have a Plano box with no dividerss. I put several spinnerbaits/buzzbaits  in plastic covers and toss them in.

I use both styles.  The 3700 box works well for my Sieberts longer arm wire tied baits.  All others go in the upright hanger boxes.

I've gone full circle:

started with a CD case

bought the plano 3700 spinnerbait box

moved on to the plano edge (big square)

and now... back to a CD case.

In fairness, I carry a bunch, but rarely fish anything other than a big colorado.

From the banking always save an old soft plastics bag. And put them in there. Easy to find and store and doesn’t weigh much.

That's exactly what I've been doing for a couple of spinnerbaits in my bank beating bag.

I am looking at a box or other storage, more for the house since I have a few spinnerbaits stashed here and a few there. I don't have a huge amount, maybe 10 all together.

I am thinking ahead to when I put my boat in and fish for 6+ hours. I might want to take an assortment with me.

Makes perfect sense!

Some great stuff, I was actually just looking at options for the exact same thing👍🏻

I have a plastic box which I really don’t like.

I’ll replace it with some type of bag style holder some day.
