No problem, I'm not sure it's on their site, that chart was sent to me by person I purchased some baits from, and I happened to save the file. Be careful of whatever head you use, the bait keeper can't be too big, otherwise the baits split. That's why I only use their jig heads.

Try turning into a "line thru", pass a leader through the nose, out the rear attach a frog hook(a large one) then pull snug, so the hook tips are tight against the back. The 3:16, use a 8/0, and you can find smaller hooks 10/0-12/0(that 15/0 is a monster at nearly 6" long!). Let us know how it works out. That Musky Frog isn't an "action" frog, but more of a dead stick bait. 3:16 has a swimming action.

Snagless Sallys and Terminator makes a weedless in-line spinner that work well in cover...I don't use them, but they're out there. FYI

Bogs makes a huge 10 in. Musky Frog, and 3:16 makes the No Bull Frog. Just a guess.

Thanks, definitely try the treble over the line, and the link looks like a very time consumingc way of building a jig assist hook like I use on butterfly jigs. Think I will try that too...let you know how it works out, because the ratio is really poor right now.

You have a crappy CL. I have a dozen canoes listed on the Philly list, nearly all under your price point. If you're going new, and those are your 2 choices, I would say the Saranac(be for warned, I would try those pre molded seats out first).

I'll lived in CO for nearly two decades, and it sucks being under drought restriction, watching our grass go brown, golf courses turning to dust bowls, reservoirs drying up, then going to Phoenix, Vegas,or SoCal, and seeing green lawns, massive "water features" and lush courses. Let's face it, much of the west is high desert plain, and was a poor choice for the massive farming that takes place there, and the water system we use to irrigate those crops. Just the evaporation alone, just mind boggling!

I really like the top hook. I have the weedless too, but have not fished it enough to give you an opinion on it, just that I have not had any problems with hook up on the 8". Just comes down to where you're fishing, open water or weeds. As for color, "match the hatch", I'm guessing silver/black,silver/green,blue back herring, or if you have shiners, I think the brown hitch might work.

IMHO,Like others said, save your money. When the time comes, and you have the money then upgrade. I believe 55 lb is about as high as you can go with a 12v system, and that extra poundage isn't worth it(unless you find something cheap on CL or somewhere else), so wait until you can "go big", and switch to a 24v system and get a 70+lb motor.

I should say, "if ya have to ask", but a Baitsmith Magnum(SPEEDBEAD's post), if that is what you were referring to, run approx $100 a pop. SPEED probably got a deal(He's got connections), but his are one of a kind, and therefore..."Priceless".I think you can order them, and most I've seen are custom painted(by the maker, Eric Smith, I think), and look extremely realistic. It's really a bigger Hudd, but a more subtle action.

I like that "nude black" also. The good news, prices are falling, and a lot of people don't like the new version compared to the OG, so prices will probably get even better.

People have to stop thinking that a bait might be "too big" for bass. Bass are voracious predators, and will try and eat anything, with in reason...and sometimes not reasonable at all...

Yes, in small, shallow impoundments you can run topwater all year long. However, maybe it's just me, but sometimes I feel buzz baits spook fish more than agitate or incite them into striking on smaller water, and I tend to use more "subtle" presentations.

Jdl, where'd you hook that fish in your avatar, the Susky? Doesn't the Conestoga hold some fish? I love Google Earth for hunting new water to fish. Too many times ppl over look farm ponds. Once you find promising water, take a drive, it never hurts just to ask. Be polite, respectful,to the point. It has been very rewarding for me. I now have a half dozen ponds, all an easy drive, most on my way to work, that I fish, all because I just asked.
