Can anyone answer me this, why on ebay, do people run up prices over retail, or even other listings BIN price(as an example: HB Helix up for auction and buyers get in a bidding war until they've driven the price up to nearly $250, when there are Helix listed for BIN $199)? Why when sellers obviously have multiples of items, and keep posting new listings after they sell one, do bidders keep bidding up the price(example: 55 lb thrust trolling motor starting price $80, buyers bid it up over $100, sells, and the seller post another listing immediately, starting price... $80, and the same people, that missed out on the last one, start bidding up the new listing)? There are tens more examples, I just dont get it. I guess the point of my rant is, why don't people, use their heads, just do a little research, I imagine we're shopping for bargains, save themselves and everyone else money and time. JUST THINK!

Trout colors (shasta, rainbow) mostly, but also silver, and hitch in the 8". 6"(and 68) mostly I match forage, perch or shad. For you in FL, I'd imagine the gold or brown, but it depends on the forage in your waters.

Also, the smaller shad come in golden shiner color, as well as the 6". Not from FL, but I don't think it matters. I fish a lot of waters that don't have trout, and it's still an effective bait. +1 on the Real Prey too.

Fish-N-Fool has been using the drop craw weight rig for many years. Essentially a weighted tube rigged with a hook as a weight on DS rig. Very similar idea,and I always wanted to try, and now that it was brought up again, I will.

Well, definitely concentrate on Knight road south, working that bridge, then hit the entrances to each of the coves, any lay downs, but you definitely need to get a water temp (and some electronics) otherwise, you're fishing in the dark. Slow rolled spinner bait is a good search bait (but the fish have seen it alot bc everyone uses 'em) jerk bait, cranks, swimbaits might be better options. What's the main forage in the lake?

Well, I got some electronics ; ) what kind of boat do you have? My guess, those fish are spawning or ready to spawn, and the SMB are definitely in post spawn. From my research, the upper portion of GL is shallow, and the closer you get to the dam, the deeper it gets. There's no topo, but I would definitely be hunting along those transitions, and searching for the baitfish.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have not fished GL, mainly because of the quarantine. But I know there's some big fish in there, and would love a chance to fish for them. What do you have for water temp now?

I'm guessing 12" tile, so that's the possum(?), I have the baby, great bait, but I think it's going to take a back seat to my BBZ. I was completely surprised by its ability to attract fish, not just hogs. Have fun!

Head up the road a bit to the Dam Good Cafe, way better food, takes credit, and reasonably priced. Any real water temp readings? Same boat as many of you, need to work on the boat, and collect my smaller crafts, and very little time, and I can practically throw a stone to the lake. Just been hitting up my ponds, and they're all getting tough with the spawn. Going to hit the river up in a few days.

Galena mining, thus the name "Lake Galena". Galena is a lead ore, and mining in the area was pretty much done by the turn of the last century. All the structures(the few houses and out buildings), and a few trees were removed prior to construction in the early '70's. There's some old road beds, rocks, stumps, but not much else.

I *** your metal working skills. I have the same project boat, but had to use wood. A small light boat became very heavy, very quickly. Good luck.

One of my go to baits, both the Ultimate and U2. I just started using the U2(smaller version), and have had lots of success, especially using the floating flat tail as a deadstick bait. As far as durability, I've used worse, and better. Like Mark said, use lubricating scent(as I do with all my soft plastics) and have Mend-It on hand.

This^^^, and to add, you can put your fish stock into zip locks and freeze it to keep it for use throughout the year. About actually eating the rib cages, well the rib bones won't dissolve, but it has become a culinary trend in many finer restaurants to serve ribs in various preparations, much like pork or beef ribs, but it is usually done with larger species like tuna. Asian cultures have had a long tradition of eating whole fish, they would find it wasteful to throw away anything edible, and there is nothing wrong with frying the rib cages along with the rest of the fish and eating every last scrap of flesh from the fish(including the skin). Waste not, want not. I don't keep many fish I catch, but when I do, I usually prepare the whole fish. It's more flavorful, and in the long run easier.

A "light swimbait" set up is worth the investment, and could be used for more than swimbaits(umbrella rig, big cranks, ect.). Just my opinion, but really limited at a an ounce max. Mainly BBZ's, tru tungsten's, couple others mentioned.
