  1. Finally! Can't wait, but in the mean time I ordered some Hudd Gills ROF 0,for this exact application, and it might be a little more versatile.
  2. Funny seeing this today, because yesterday I was fishing one of the private ponds that I have permission to fish, and two guys show up. They were fishing fast moving down the bank, I was on the other side, but by the speed they were fishing, they'd pass by me in no time. They caught a few, nothing big. When they got close to me, they took a wide berth, hmmm...considerate anglers? Nope, I engaged them, and they obviously didn't want to talk, so I just came out and asked if they had permission since I hadn't seen them before, the one tried to lie, the other realized they were busted, and said so what if we don't have permission we're C&R. I said that the owner is really nice, if they had just asked, he would have said yes. That they make it tough for the rest of us, and it takes some balls to walk into someone's front yard, less than 20 ft from their front door, and fish their pond without asking permission especially considering it's a fenced and gated property, they're lucky they didn't get the cops called on them,or worse. Just don't understand why some people would think that its appropriate behavior. Just ask, it has always worked for me
  3. I have a Fish Cat 4, good tube, but any mentioned by Vegas are solid choices, and like any watercraft easily modified. I use a crate with pvc rod holders, and a fishing buddy FF in a neoprene holder, but I've seen some crazy mods. My advice, go as simple as possible.
  4. Simple math(Don't freak out!)...Battery amp hours (Ah), divided by the load(A), equals run hours (h).or... Ah÷A=h Just need to know the load. (By the way I use a similar battery 12v35ah wheelchair battery)
  5. This is the pedestal kit I was talking about. Btwn $50-$60
  6. Working on the pics...I haven't used it in awhile so it's packed away. The 'toon you have has a weight capacity between 275#-300#, so "going light" is important, but I would never give up my TM (55# thrust also). Purchase wheelchair batteries(12v35ah) smaller/lighter, and will work for your application. Balance is important. So if you go with a rear mount TM and battery, move your frame as far forward on the toons as it will go, and then move seat and footrest as far as they go. This will help your boat to float level, and not drag ass, especially since your cargo deck is so far back. (I would definitely consider a front trolling motor mod with your boat.)
  7. Punch rig or weedless rigged bait of choice, frog, shad, worm, whatever dragged slowly along top, dropped into holes, like others said. This fish caught through the slam slop around a dead fall on a plastic frog rigged weedless...
  8. Yep, black for low light, white for daylight. Top color is for the fisherman, so choose something you can see.
  9. *Note:ROF for Hudds is based on 10 secondsie.8" ROF 5 falls 5' in 10 seconds.
  10. Rudder adjustments? Most of the time when I get myself into a situation where I need reverse, it's straight back, no "rudder adjustment" needed. LOL.
  11. More than a "who's biggest" contest, it's kinda embarrassing(what we spend to catch a fish) and like Gardnerjigman said, a "wife trap".
  12. Dude, for that price buy a two pack of 12v 35 ah wheelchair batteries, much lighter/smaller, and I can go all day w/my 55# TM and electronics running off of it.
  13. I'd suffer any "little discomfort" to have reverse. WS is a pedal/prop design with reverse, like the Native Propel. It's the motor that I'm interested in.
  14. Yes, raised seat does affect rowing, I got longer oars, and with my TM, I don't row much anymore. I have one of those large cylindrical seat pedestals with square plates, but if I had to do it again, I'd get a post and base plate, like that is used on boats(just alot lighter, and adjustable, and swivels w/o the need for a heavy swivel plate). For the standing platform, I used a piece of diamond plate (found it, and it happened to be the perfect size) attached 4 pieces of chain(8"), and 4 four hooks to my frame in front of my seat. I used chain so I can raise it out of the water when I'm motoring.(I'll get a pic posted) YouTube has some vids on this too. Some guys use sliding shelf rails attached to the frame below the seat, so the platform slides back out of the way,(A future project). I frequent kayak DIY sites because there are a lot of good ideas and products for yaks that can be used on multiple types of watercraft, like transducer arms made out of pvc, and Yak Attack makes a really nice arm (I put them on my canoe and yak). BTW I wouldn't fish w/o my motor now, just too slow with the oars.
  15. Hmmm...I don't use one. I use to, but for some reason I stopped(maybe because I now buy glasses that fit my head, and dont slip off) I use to use, and still have a lot of, those neoprene lanyards, they're like a dollar, stay snug, and stretch.
  16. I'll bet Speedbead can match that pile, and raise it some ridiculously expensive baits(though, he may not have paid retail for them). Hinkle alone fetches $500.
  17. Funny! My fishing partner was just giving me a hard time because I was "wasting" his time(and mine), while taking a sharpie and a spike it pen to my white No Bull Frogs. He shut up after the first fish came through the pads. It works, doesn't bother the fish. "Match the hatch", my theory. Next big frog you catch, flip him over. You have two with white bottoms, "color" one, and see which one gets more hits.
  18. Had a little time after work to hit up one of my ponds...best 3 of 18. First two came through the slop third hit a Hudd Shad.
  19. You bit the bullet, and purchased some "pricey" swimbaits, now realize that you can't be wary of throwing them where ever they need to be thrown to catch fish, trebles or not.
  20. No "teeners" here, but I definitely lost interest in fishing just for numbers, although I do it often, my goal usually is to target the biggest fish in whatever body of water I'm fishing, with the ultimate goal being a DD.
  21. Seat pedestal, swivel, skegs, fishfinder, standing platform are additions I cant live w/o. now. I have my tackle, and battery(ies) stowed in back.
  22. No doubt, one of the best. I have a Meyer's Sportspal S14, and have had my wife, two kids, and a dog in it(a 100 lb. Lab), and there was never a question about stability, definitely be careful with rocks, it's tough (tougher than the Radisson), but not that tough. I believe Goose52 has the Radisson version, totally "tricked out" for fishing, a sight to see. There's some YouTube vids on them too(KeepinItReelFishing). Good review. Good luck, have fun, and tight lines.
  23. In your price range, I've heard good things(and bad) about the Ascend 128T. You get alot of boat for the price.
  24. Pad Crashers, Ish's Phat, for hollow bodies, but I use Spro, Lunkers, LT, & SK also. Case Plastics and 3:16 for plastic frog/toad. The 3:16 No Bull has been tearing it up on the ponds I fish.
  25. You fish plastic swimbaits, you need Mend-It. (I wish they sold it in gallon jugs.)
